A leak has revealed some of the new content that players might be getting inZenless Zone Zero’s upcoming version 1.1.Zenless Zone Zerolaunched on July 4 for multiple platforms and has been well received by the community, and like HoYoverse’s other popular gacha games,Genshin ImpactandHonkai Star Rail, this latest successful release is already proving to be susceptible to leaks.
Less than a week after the game launched, details about three characters planned for version 1.1 were leaked online. Shortly afterward, on July 11, HoYoverse officially revealed Qingyi, Seth Lowell, and Jane Doe, who joined the two previously known upcoming characters. Zhu Yuan, a member of Public Security that players meet during a story quest, will become available duringZenless Zone Zero’s second phase of the 1.0 banner, beginning on July 24. She will be joined, presumably in 1.1, by Hoshimi Miyabi and her partner, Qingyi, along with the other two leaked characters.
Also reportedly coming inZenless Zone Zero1.1, if theleak by hakush.inproves true, is an unnamed S-Rank Pub Sec Bangboo. Other than its image and rank, nothing else is yet known about this mysterious addition, though many fans assume that the upcoming critter is North, who was introduced in a series of missions in Chapter 2. Given that three members of Pub Sec’s Criminal Investigation Special Response Team are coming in 1.0 and 1.1, it makes sense that aPublic Security Bangboo with an established storyline inZenless Zone Zeromight join them.
What Are Zenless Zone Zero’s Bangboo?
Bangboo inZenless Zone Zeroare companion robots used by much of the populace. At certain locations in the city of New Eridu, like Belle’s bedroom or the parking lot in Lumina Square, they can be spotted snoozing in charging stations. Though the game occasionally describes their mechanical attributes — mentioning their metal skin, data ports, and impressive strength — they are presented in-game as knee-height, soft-looking plush toys with bunny-like ears and various costumes.
The critters are just one of the ways that this latest HoYoverse game differentiates itself from the company’s previous offerings. The variouscharacters inZenless Zone Zerocan be spotted hanging out in New Eridu, and players can participate in short interactions with them to increase that character’s trust level and earn rewards. The feel of the game, overall, is less potentially overwhelming, as the current accessible locations are much smaller than corresponding zones inHonkaiorGenshin Impact.This helps the world perhaps feel more cozy, familiar, and lived in than previous games.
