Although Link’s latest adventure features a wide cast of supporting characters, significant sections ofThe Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wildare spent wandering around the vast kingdom of Hyrule alone. While this does at times have its advantages, the prolonged periods of isolation can sometimes make it feel as though something is missing; especially when compared to earlier3DZeldagames. Thanks to a recently discovered glitch, however, that needn’t be the case anymore.
Since the series' humble beginnings on the Famicom Disc System, manyZeldagames have shared a common theme: It’s dangerous to go alone. While the original game combated this by handing players a sword, several of the series' later entries instead opted to give Link a partner with whom he could complete his adventure. Now, with the right setup and a few simple button presses, it’s possible to play throughThe Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wildmuch in the same way.

The glitch is surprisingly easy to pull off, and will lead to the Goron Yunobo following Link anywhere in Hyrule rather than just the Death Mountain area as once intended. As YouTuber ThornyFox points out, all players need to do is reach the Bridge of Eldin during the Divine Beast Vah Rudania quest and then use an item to push Yunobo past a certain point. If done correctly, talking to Yunobo afterwards will lead to him following Link around wherever the young hero goes. While definitely one of the more unique, this is just one of manyBreath of the Wildglitches.
A player recently discoveredhow to playBreath of the Wildin first personwhile another figured out how to walk around underwater by overloading the game. There are some practical glitches too, such as the ones which allow players to keep the Bow of Light when starting a new game, or duplicate spirit orbs to easily increase their health and stamina. By comparison, the Yunobo glitch is more fun than functional, although it does offer a somewhat unique way to play the game.
Whether traditional companion characters will return for the game’s upcoming sequel remains unclear, as are many of the details surrounding the long-awaited title. Since first announcing the game at E3 back in 2019, Nintendo has been fairly tight-lipped about progress on the title, although it did recently promise fans thatnews aboutBreath of the Wild 2will be coming later this year. Until then, however, all fans can really do is speculate.
