In about four months,Shazam! Fury of the Godshits theaters and lead star Zachary Levi is leaving no opportunity to remind fans of the fact. The actor, who portrays the role of the hero who is given the gift of superpowers courtesy a wizard, took to Twitter on Monday to reiterate the release date of the upcoming film, while also sharing the first official poster that puts his character front and center.
Ever sinceShazam! Fury of the Godswas confirmed, Levi has been slowly building hype for the sequel to the popular 2019 superhero film. Thefirst official teaser for the filmwas revealed during the San Diego Comic-Con in July, and since then, the official trailer has also been released. However, this is the first time a poster of the film has been revealed for audiences to see, and with it Levi has the chance to offer fans a closer glimpse at his costume and his “#ElectricBoogaloo.”

In theShazam! Fury of the Gods poster, Levi’s protagonist seems to be riding some kind of electric scooter, and looks unfazed despite the apparent destruction taking place in the background. “Mark your calendars, y’all,” he writes, and refers to the upcoming sequel as “wiser, stronger, faster, funnier” and “overall, cooler” than 2019’sShazam!He jokes about how the character is more humble than his superhero counterparts, and reminds fans thatthe film releases on March 17. He then makes a reference to an “Electric Boogaloo,” which is a reference to a type of dance.
Fans have already seenthe trailer forShazam! Fury of the Gods, but the poster offers a closer look at the hero’s suit. It is definitely an upgrade compared to the one he was seen wearing in the prequel, and is in line with the costumes that other heroes wear in the DC Universe. The poster, and Levi’s promotional message, are completely relevant to the comical theme of the franchise.Shazam!was well received by audiences for its fun, action-packed plot, and was appreciated for being a more family-friendly film as compared to the other darker projects in the DC Universe.
While not a lot is known about the much-awaited sequel, the synopsis that was released earlier this year already confirms that the story will once again focus on the teenager Billy Batson who is transformed into a superhero after reciting the word “Shazam.” And in this film, he will not be alone as his adoptive family will also be joining the fight against the villainous daughters of the Greek titan Atlas,Hespera and Kalypso.
Shazam! Fury of the Godsis scheduled to premiere in theaters on June 11, 2025. See the full poster below:
