Much like its straightforward name implies, the game stars a young cat lost in a large metropolis, with the player being tasked to guide the furry protagonist home.

After four years of development,Little Kitty, Big Cityhit the market on May 9, launching for the Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Microsoft has also managed tosecure it as a day-one release on Xbox Game Pass, with this being the first launch-day title to reach the service in May 2024. Aside from being available across all contemporary platforms in the company’s gaming ecosystem,Little Kitty, Big Cityis also an Xbox Play Anywhere game, meaning it supports seamless progression across multiple systems.

Day-one release
While the goal of the game is to find one’s way home, that journey will be all but straightforward, not least becauseLittle Kitty, Big Cityboasts a sprawling open world with plenty of things to do and places to be. Its list of potential activities includes meeting and befriending a wide variety of animal characters, some of whom will act as quest-givers. Another big feature is customization, with players being able to collect a huge assortment of hats, each more adorable than the next, that the protagonist can wear. While the game’s premise may seem likeStrayin a non-dystopian setting,Little Kitty, Big Cityalso appears to lean intoUntitled Goose Game-like sandbox shenanigans.
At least two more day-one releases are set to hit Xbox Game Pass in the second half of the month. The first of those is Ninja Theory’s action adventureSenua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, which is coming to the popular subscription service on May 21. Moonloop Games' stylish twin-stick shooterHauntiiwill then follow suit two days later.
