The last couple of weeks have been a gold mine of information forWWE 2K24, with developer Visual Concepts and publisher 2K revealing the entire roster, all the overall ratings, details regarding MyRise and other game modes, and much more. The roster’s overall ratings every year tend to invite conversation and discussion about whether they are overrated, just right, or underrated, and this year is no different. There are a few head-scratchers inWWE 2K24like Cody Rhodes' 93 overall rating, but one that is well-deserved is Rhea Ripley.
Jumping from 90 to 96 betweenWWE 2K23andWWE 2K24, Ripley’s new overall rating clearly reflects her role in the company. Not only did her name and stardom effectively carry the Elimination Chamber PLE in Perth, Australlia, but she has had a dominant run as Women’s World Champion, has played a major role in modern storytelling as the leader of The Judgment Day, and looks to continue that momentum after WrestleMania 40. Of course, it remains to be seen what happens with Ripley after her title defense against Becky Lynch at WrestleMania, but she’s already had an impact onWWE 2Kseries history.

The biggest question about anyWWE 2Kgame’s rosteris who the highest rated superstar is, as well as who has earned more than 95. Anyone higher than that can effectively be described as legendary (or perhaps jokey). The highest ratedWWE 2Ksuperstar in history is AJ Styles' Solid Gold form, with a 100 overall rating, inWWE 2K19. The second and more realistic is Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns inWWE 2K23, which celebrated his and The Bloodline’s story, being reflective of his “Final Boss” status in the WWE. Interestingly, prior toWWE 2K24, there were only two women in the top10 highest rated superstars inWWE 2Khistory.
These were Becky Lynch (with a 96 Overall Rating) and Bianca Belair (with a 95 Overall Rating), both inWWE 2K23. This means Becky beat out superstars likeWWE 2K17’s Stone Cold Steve Austin,WWE 2K14’s Shawn Michaels, and evenWWE 2K23’s Undertaker. Bianca tied with all of them, while Becky tied with the likes ofWWE 2K23’s The Rock andWWE 2K15’s John Cena. Now, however, there are three women within the top 10, as Rhea Ripley surpassed Bianca’s historic rating with a 96. Interestingly, comeWWE 2K24, it’s worth noting that Bianca has retained her 95, while Becky has dropped to a 92. Either way, another way of looking at this is that WrestleMania 40 will see the two highest-rated women in 2K history face off, with the franchise’s history accurately reflecting the “money match” element of the two.

However, this historic moment shouldn’t be the end of Mami’s run. If WWE continues to push her, she has a bright future in the real world and in the video game one too. Ripley retaining at WrestleMania 40 seems to be the safest bet, likely leading into a few more months, if not an entire year, of her domination of the roster. Upcomers like Tiffany Stratton would be great pairings to continue throughout the year, while it will be interesting to see how her story along Dominik Mysterio develops and the entireJudgment Day. If the faction were to even fracture, it would all likely revolve around her somehow.
With this in mind, there are two major achievements thatRhea Ripley deserves in theWWE 2Kvideo game space. The first is that ratings bump ahead of Becky; while it is and should understandably be rare,Rhea Ripley deserves a 99 Overall Rating inWWE 2K25should her domination continue post-WrestleMania. Her jump was already huge, and a jump from 96 to 99 would be as well, but it would be well-deserved. Already, she is the “final boss” of WWE’s women’s division, and her next rating should accurately reflect that (assuming little changes over the next year). Secondly, Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair are the first female duo to appear on a cover together, without a male superstar accompanying them. However, it’s worth mentioning that the standard edition is more of the “default” cover star and that belongs toCody Rhodes inWWE 2K24.
There has never been a solo female cover star inWWE 2Khistory, but if there’s ever a contender for that, it’s Rhea Ripley.Rhea deserves the accolade of first solo female superstar on aWWE 2Kcoverat some point. It’s unlikely to beWWE 2K25just because she already shares the current cover with Bianca, but in the next couple of years, this aspect of its history should change. There’s no one better suited right now to change it than Rhea “Bloody” Ripley.
