World of Warcraftplayers have discovered a secret boss tucked away on a hidden island inDragonflight. Though the boss is not involved in any quests or achievements, players are still delighted to discover this secret inWorld of Warcraft: Dragonflight.
Lev’al Rock Isle is a remote location found south ofthe Azure Span zone inDragonflight. This secret island is nearly off the edge of the map and can only be seen on the clearest of days. Players can easily reach the hidden island with their Dragonriding mounts.

The secret island is littered with bones, discarded weapons, and dead plants, and it was recently shown in a YouTube video uploaded by Partier WoW Quests. Tree stumps and bushes burn from rogue fire elementals and Magma Slugs, and crabs wearing dragon skulls and vertebrae wander the island in lines, giving the appearance of skeletal serpents when viewed from above. Crustosteo, a giant enemy crab wearing a dragon skull with burning eyes, waits within the isle’s largest cavern. Though not particularly difficult, the tanky EliteWorld of Warcraftboss has a fair amount of hitpointsand defensive abilities.
Unfortunately, Crustosteo does not drop anything of note beyond vendorable junk, cooking reagents, and the occasional green weapon. Hunter players interested in taming these bone-wearing crustaceans will be sorely disappointed–Crustosteo is not tamable, and the Lev’al Skulltlers and Spineshells lose their dragon bones when they are tamed. Lev’al Rock Isle is not connected to any achievements, quests, or collectibles, so it appears to be little more thanan explorable secret forWorld of Warcraftplayers to stumble upon.
That isn’t necessarily a bad thing, as adding little secrets around the world is howWorld of Warcraftbreathes life into its zones. ThoughWorld of Warcrafthad hit a rocky point in its history betweenBattle for Azeroth,Shadowlands, and Blizzard’s recent controversies, many players have good things to say aboutDragonflight. It isfar from the perfectWorld of Warcraftexpansion, but little secrets like Lev’al Rock and Crustosteo proveDragonflightis creating an experience that harkens back to what made players fall in love withWoWin the first place.
That said, players are a little disappointed this particularWorld of Warcraftsecret didn’t have anything more significant with it. Players would have enjoyed the opportunity to collect a special battle pet, cosmetic item, or even a toy from Crustosteo and his hidden lair. Additionally,pet-collecting Hunter players inWorld of Warcraftwould have loved to get a crab with a dragon skull on its head. If Hunter players are lucky, perhapsWorld of Warcraftmight reuse Crustosteo’s model in the future on a collectible pet.
