After months of anticipation,World of Warcraftplayers can now create Dracthyr Evoker characters on live servers. The second phase of theDragonflightpre-patch marks the official arrival of the 13th playable class inWorld of Warcraft.

The Dracthyr is the new draconic playable race inWorld of Warcraft: Dragonflight, and the Evoker is the new dragon-themed class that comes with it. With the second phase of theDragonflightpre-patch now live,World of Warcraftreleased a short trailer hyping up the new Dracthyr Evoker. It set up the story of the Dracthyr, having just awakened from a 20,000-year-long stasis to a very different world. The trailer showed the dynamic abilities of the Preservation healing spec and Devastation DPS spec in action, as well as unique abilities like Soar, whichtaps into the Dragonriding mechanics ofDragonflight.

Players can officially make Dracthyr Evokers when the pre-patch goes live after the weekly reset–unfortunately meaning players in Europe and other countries east of North America will have to wait until November 16 to make one. Nevertheless, players who havepurchasedDragonflightcan make a single dracthyr Evokeron any world. Because Evokers are a Hero Class that begins at level 58, subsequent Dracthyr require players to have at least one level 50 character on a given realm, and only a single Dracthyr can be made on each realm.

Players are already rushing into the game to make their own Dracthyr Evokers. With countless customization options, no two Dracthyr are likely to look the same, so players are eager to show off their unique characters. Many players have alreadydesigned their Dracthyr in theDragonflightbetaor with their own art skills and are eager to officially recreate them, and most players are excited to try out the new Evoker class.

Some fans are still not sold on the Dracthyr, however. Most players were hoping to be able to play an actual dragon inDragonflight, or one of the existing dragonkin-like drakonids or dragonspawn. However, after seeing howcool Scalecommander Emberthal is in the newDragonflightlaunch trailer, or watching her story in theDragonflightLegacies animated shorts, some of those players are coming around to them. Now that players can try out the Dracthyr Evoker, they can decide for themselves if the new race class combo is for them.
