Blizzard’s delayed and online-only BlizzConline 2021 is scheduled to start tomorrow. It seems that not everyone is on the same page, however. Some of Blizzard’s press kits for featured BlizzConline games have leaked and with them key announcements related toWorld of Warcraft Classic. Unsurprisingly,World of Warcraft Classicfans will be receiving the one big reveal they’ve been looking forward to.World of Warcraft Burning Crusade Classichas now been confirmed.
The press release details are unfortunately thing on the specifics thatWorld of Warcraft Classicplayers are likely wanting to hear. For example, no release date information is provided beyond a 2021 launch window. There’s also no information regardingBurning Crusade Classic’s all but guaranteed beta. It’s possible that this information will be shared during BlizzCon apart from the press kit, but unlikely.World of Warcraft Classicplayers will likely have to wait for more information down the line.

All of the content included inWorld of Warcraft Burning Crusade Classicshould be familiar toWorld of Warcraftplayers by now. There will be new zones, like the Hellfire Peninsula and Zangarmarsh. Blood Elf and Draenei will be available as playable races.Flying mounts, Arena PvP, and new raids are all going to be a part of theWorld of Warcraft Burning Crusade Classicrelease. Like withWorld of Warcraft Classic,Burning Crusade Classicwill provide an authentic recreation of the original experience.
Blizzard does confirm that, like with theoriginalWorld ofWarcraft Classicrelease, patches and updates will roll out via phases over time. That wayBurning Crusadeplayers can progress through the expansion’s content in a normal fashion. The exact cadence of content releases hasn’t been shared yet, and neither has the initial patch that’ll be available at launch.
One change coming with the release of theBurning Crusade Classicexpansion is going to give players a big decision.World of Warcraft Classicplayers will be able totransfer their current characters toBurning Crusade Classic, of course. But they’ll also be able to keep them in theWorld of Warcraft Classicbase game. The servers will be split. There’s definitely more to this situation than meets the eye.
Lastly, Blizzard confirms that access toWorld of Warcraft Burning Crusade Classicwill, like withWorld of Warcraft Classic, be included with a standard subscription. Those playingWorld of Warcraft Shadowlandswill have access to theClassicservers, too. Fans hoping for more information should tune intoBlizzCononline 2021, which starts Friday on Blizzard’s various streaming platforms.
