As retailWorld of Warcraftplayers continue wrapping up Battle for Azeroth endgame contentand Classic fans prepare to breach the gates of Ahn’Qiraj (or AQ as most players call it), one particular fan has spent the last ten months looking back at a different epic raid altogether: Black Temple.
Aftercreating an epic Naxxramas trailer, Hurricane is back once again to shine a spotlight on another iconinic moment in WoW history through their own cinematic lens. This new fan-made trailer took ten months to create and uses no in-game footage. That means that the full experience was built in Cinema 4D. The finished product has a professional shine to it and does an amazing job setting up the epic showdown that takes place at the end ofWorld of Warcraft’sThe Burning Crusade content and highlighting the actual boss fights themselves as players would work their way towards the confrontation with Illidan.

The Black Temple trailer manages to communicate themassive war-scale effort that was happening during The Burning Crusadeand really showcases the epic nature of the conflict. Even with 20 or 40-person raids, sometimes it is hard for the true size of a conflict to translate well in-game from moment to moment. This trailer fills in those narrative games perfectly as it shows massive waves of Horde and Alliance soldiers preparing for battle and throwing themselves at monsters as they race through the Black Temple towards each boss.
The trailer is well worth the ten months of hard work and already has more than 300,000 views after just one weekend. This sort of throwback trailer gives an amazing look some of the killer creature designs that have been used throughout the MMO’s lengthy history. It’s easy to forgot about the content from older expansions as new bosses arrive every two years or so with the latest world-ending threat, but it’s great to be reminded of these epic moments through such a high quality fan creation.
“It’s been nearly 14 years since the release of the first WoW Expansion. Last year I’ve decided to visit The Burning Crusade content once more following up the huge success of Classic WoW. As per the promise I made at the end of the Naxxramas Trailer I’m happy to show you the journey to the Black Temple the way I remember it.
The trailer took 10 months to make and it’s been made entirely in Cinema 4D (meaning no ingame footage has been used). It’s development has been made possible due to the extensive use of the Marlamin’s Export Tools and Jeromnimo’s WoW Model Viewer.”
At this point, the creator has not made any promises about what project they will be tackling next, but either way we’ll be keeping a close on in the Hurricane YouTube channel in the coming months for new teases or announcements. Until then, WoW fans will have to entertain themselves by preparing for theShadowlandslaunch or diving back intomore throwbacks with theClassicgrind.
