Even though Patch 10.1.5 just dropped,World of Warcraftrecently gave players a first look at Patch 10.1.7, Fury Incarnate. The update is adding a public activity called Dreamsurges, Heritage Armor questlines for the Forsaken and Night Elves, and new story quests, including one for the Draenei.

Now, players have received a big clue as to what this quest will be all about. In the Patch 10.1.7 Public Test Realm, players have discovered a new achievement called Seeing Red.World of Warcraftplayers who complete this Draenei questline, which seemingly involves “Velen’s prophecy of unexpected penitence,” unlock three skin tones and four hair and eye colors inspired by the Man’ari Eredar.
InWarcraftlore, the Eredar were an advanced race who were approached by the Dark Titan Sargeras in ancient times. Most of the Eredar inWorld of Warcraftfollowed Archimonde and Kil’jaeden, joined the Burning Legion, and became demons, while a small group fled with Velen and became the Draenei. However, the demons were defeated inLegion, leaving players to speculate on what happened to the surviving Man’ari Eredar. Now, it seems like Velen may be bringing some of their wayward cousins back into the fold after millennia of fighting.
Players were shocked to learnWorld of Warcraftwas adding these customizations. The Eredar are some of the coolest villains inWarcraftlore, and many role-players already pretended their Draenei were Man’ari anyway, so they are excited to have these options available to them.Draenei also recently got the ability to be Warlocks inWoW, so these customizations came at the perfect time.
That said, some players have misgivings about the idea of playable Eredar inWoW. They are disappointed the customizations seem to lack the vivid colors, muscle definition, and Fel corruption the incredible models from Legion had. Other players pointed out Man’ari using Draenei racials like Gift of the Naaru is strange, which calls into question why they are not an Allied Race–or why Allied Races exist at all. Others still are skeptical about forgiving the Eredar, who have perpetuated so much suffering to nearly every playable race. These players will have to wait and see what the quest and customizations look like when they go live, and howWorld of Warcrafthandles Allied Racesin the future.
