WithWWE 2K22proving to be a significant stop forward for the franchise, wrestling fans have a product that many feel does right by the series' legacy. It’s the latest in a long line ofWWEgames, and though recent years have been unkind, the most recent offering from developer Visual Concepts has proven that the two-year wait was worth it.WWE 2K22makes a number of critical changes, including a commitment to downloadable content some time in the near future.
DLC isn’t anything new for theWWElicense, as past entries have offered a number of additional characters, accelerators, and move sets that bring something new to each games' presentation. This time,much of the DLC emphasis has been on celebrity superstars,allowing players to take to the ring as Machine Gun Kelly or Mr. T. However, one could argue the addition of Logan Paul makes far more sense than the A-Team, Hall of Famer, or the VMA award-winning rapper responsible for WrestleMania 28’s theme song “Invincible.”

Logan Paul’s Growing WWE Presence
Paul made his WWE debut in April 2021, butting heads with the likes of Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. His presence in the company has only grown since, and thoughthe roster ofWWE 2K22isn’t short of snubs, bringing on a man with his very own spot at The Grandest Stage of Them All should mean his time in the WWE ring will be remembered by players for years to come. Logan Paul’s storylines are far from the main event, but his unexpected feature on the show more than justifies a place onWWE 2K22’s roster.
Logan Paul: Boxer, Wrestler, Entertainer
Logan Paul’s history with combat sports is extensive, from his early years as an amateur wrestler in Ohio to the spectacle ofboxing Floyd Mayweather at a sold-out Hard Rock Stadiumin Miami, Florida. Paul’s somewhat eclectic background in hand-to-hand combat, regardless of scope, lends itself perfectly to a surprising addition to theWWE 2K22line-up. However, amateur wrestling in Division 1 competition is decidedly different from the bright lights of the WWE. Paul’s move set will likely be different to many, resulting in his inclusion inWWE 2K22being shrouded in mystery. More should be known once WrestleMania 38 rolls around.
FollowingWrestleMania’s two-night event starting April 2, Logan Paul’s ongoing time with the WWE is largely uncertain. There’s every chance his time with the company is far from over though, and as Logan Paul is a master at playing characters to a crowd of thousands, he fits like a glove in the roster of the company’s latest video game. Paul is a controversial figure, as any praise for many is balanced by many criticisms from others, so Visual Concepts' decision to include him should be an interesting opportunity for both sides of the aisle.
