Venom: Let There Be Carnagewas released in October and gave fans a live-action version of the classic Scarlet Symbiote. Now,Sonyhas released a deleted scene to celebrateVenom 2’s digital release, and it puts the spotlight on the villains played by Woody Harrelson and Naomie Harris.
Venom: Let There Be Carnagehas been working its way up to earn as much as the previous film did, and so far it’s been doing a great job on the domestic front. TheSonysequel looks like it will be something that fans will hold in high regard in comparison to the first film, as it improved upon its predecessor and raised the stakes to draw more fans into becoming invested inthe complex Venom character.

As previously mentioned,the newly releasedVenom 2scenedoesn’t focus on Eddie Brock. Instead, it focused on his parasitic archnemesis, Carnage. In the scene, Carnage, Cletus Kasady, and Shriek gather around to discuss their plans. It starts with Kasady talking about those he wants revenge on, with Shriek adding one person to the list. However, it ends with the Carnage symbiote interrupting with an even more nefarious plan of eradicating all of human life. Carnage wants to take over the earth and create a new hybrid of Symbiotes and human beings.
Eddie Brock’s character arc wasfurther explored inVenom 2, and it shows that sometimes the ones who save the world aren’t always the ones with the cleanest backgrounds or upbringings. As fans know, Eddie Brock is far from what many would deem ‘heroic.’ His life is falling apart and he struggles to hold it together with trembling hands, but this is what makes him relatable. Fans are often used to characters who have more “stable” backgrounds becoming superheroes, so it’s a nice change of pace to see a ‘hero’ who goes through what most people go through.
Though it would’ve been a nice addition, the deleted scene definitely didn’t need to be included inVenom 2.The scene does give the villains motive, but they have mismatched goals. It also has a weird spark of conflict between Kasady and the symbiote, which was less compelling than the one they chose to use in the final version of the film, which wasCarnage smacking Shriek dueto his vulnerability to her sound powers.
Venom will hopefully be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe at some point in the future.Let There Be Carnagedefinitely teased what’s to come and fans couldn’t be happier after learning of the collaboration Disney and Sony managed to pull off. Only time will tell what the future holds for the anti-hero.
Venom: Let There Be Carnageis currently available on digital platforms and will be released on Blu-ray on August 07, 2025.
