Atlus has confirmed that the upcoming “Persona Super Live” event will not feature any announcements of newPersonagames.Atlus announced the concert series would returnearlier this year after missing 2020 and 2021 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The bi-annual concert has typically featured music from throughout the JRPG franchise’s storied history, along with plenty of updates about new games in the franchise. Now, Atlus has confirmed the newest iteration of the two-day music event will not reveal any new games.

Atlus made the announcement regarding the Persona Super Live on Tuesday, with the concert coming as part of thePersonafranchise’s 25th anniversary celebrations. ThePersonaPR team revealed several new elements coming as part of the concert, including a life-sized statue ofPersona 5’s Arsene alongside the statues of iconic Personas Thanatos and Izanagi. The conclusion of the announcement expressly confirms that Atlus will not be making any announcements relating to a newPersonagame during the concert.

The confirmation of no new announcements comes as fans have rampantly speculated aPersona 6announcement could come during the anniversary festivities. While previous job listings from Atlus have seemingly confirmedPersona 6is in development, the JRPG developer has yet to make any official statements about the sequel. A long hiatus between main series games is nothing new for thePersonafranchise, with an eight-year gap between the Japanese release ofPersona 4in 2008 andPersona 5in 2016.

While no new games will come during the anniversary concert, Atlus still has more announcements planned throughout the rest of the year. Previous announcements have revealed the upcomingPersonalive concert andPersona 4 Arena Ultimaxcoming to modern consoles, along with ports ofPersona 3,4, and5to multiple platforms.

While Atlus will not be making any new game announcements, thePersonafranchise has plenty in store throughout the rest of 2022 and into 2023. The previously-mentionedport ofPersona 5 Royalis set to launch on PC, PS5, Xbox consoles, and Switch next month withPersona 4 Goldenand3 Portablecoming sometime next year.Persona 5has also been featured in crossovers with multiple other games over the past year, includingAlchemy StarsandFinal Fantasy Brave Exvius.
