It seems that, while trying to place a Hot Springs item, they fired a rocket instead, blowing a hole in the floor of the base. Even worse, the player then fell through the floor and fired a second shot, triggering a larger explosion that destroyed the entire base.

BlingCringus, to their credit, appears to be taking the loss in stride, however. In the comments, they respond to other Redditors by laughing the incident off, even adding that they were having trouble with that base anyway, so it wasn’t too big of a loss.
Already,Palworldfans are calling for new building features. Perhaps one that should be added to the list of requests is a lock on weapons when building mode is activated. Such a modification could prevent accidents like this in the future. BlingCringus doesn’t seem to mind too much, but the next player who blows up their base may not take it as well.
