Ubisoft has become a mainstay in today’s video game news. With many fans feeling its games have become formulaic, there are severalupcoming Ubisoft titles that players need updates on, perhaps foremost among them beingRainbow Six Quarantine.
Announced quite a while ago, there has been little word onRainbow Six Quarantinerecently. What is known is that unlike the extremely successfulRainbow Six Siege,Quarantinewill be a horror title. This puts it in competition with titles Ubisoft seldom competes against, and in a genre the company rarely tackles. A recent statement also gives rise to the possibility that it will have a different title when released.

In October 2020,Ubisoft delayed the release ofRainbow Six QuarantinealongsideFar Cry 6. Considering the state of the world and the COVID-19 quarantine, this was understandable. In light of that ongoing quarantine, one reporter asked Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot whetherRainbow Six Quarantineshould still bear that title on release. While the title was fine when it was announced, the word quarantine bears a lot more weight these days, harkening to real life horror far more than fictional horror. Guillemot was noncommittal in his response, saying the company is evaluating whether or not to change the name, but has no new information to share yet.
What that most likely means is that Ubisoft has not arrived at a decision of whether or not to change the title. This could be because of ongoing debate within the company, or because no one at Ubisoft considered the question until it was asked. ConsideringRainbow Six Quarantine’s release date is still not clear, it seems Ubisoft is still working on details regarding the nextRainbow Sixtitle.
Many players arewondering whether or not to start worrying aboutRainbow Six Quarantine. While this does have a bit to do with the now uncomfortable name, it also has to do with how little concrete news there is aboutQuarantine. Considering it could break new ground for Ubisoft as a follow up to the super successfulSiege, there’s a lot riding on the title.
Players are pretty clearwhat they want and don’t want inQuarantinewhen it finally releases, and the lack of news is likely making many fans jumpy. Hopefully whatever the name of the nextRainbow Sixgame winds up being, it comes attached to a good experience.
Rainbow Six Quarantineis currently in development for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
