When Amazon allowedTwitchstreamers to get their hands on an early build of itsNew WorldMMO, it was probably hoping to get some nice feedback and a little boost in the public’s excitement over the upcoming title. To some degree, the company probably got what it was looking for. On the other hand, theNew Worldfull release is delayed again. No, it’s unlikely that Twitch’s reaction to the game is the reason for the delay, but it is possible that those reactions didn’t help.

For the most part,Twitchstreamers were simply not that impressed. There were aspects ofNew Worldthat impressed some, however, the overwhelming majority of streamers found something not to like. Even worse, is that several people found different things to dislike or complain about. That’s not good news for a company hoping for a positive set of reviews from the biggest streamers who could’ve otherwise generated some buzz for Amazon’s upcoming MMO.

Underwhelming Enemy Variety in New World

It’s important to note thatNew Worldis still actively in development, and is planned to release in September. That means there’s always a chance that the game could get a tweak here or there before its full release. One popular Twitch streamer appears to be holding out hope for that to be the case. Asmongold recently decided he’d had enough ofWorld of Warcraftand wanted to try other MMOs. However, when Asmongold triedNew World, he found some stuff he didn’t exactly love about the game.

Among those items was a lack of enemy variety. That can be a bit of a problem when it comes to a combat-focused MMO that is stillon the way to market likeNew World. It’s also a problem when a Twitch streamer complains about something like that, considering the size of Asmongold’s audience. The good news is that Asmongold and others have talked about how the lack of enemy variety is a problem, while also still hoping there can be an improvement in that area.

Player Housing in New World MMO

Asmongold wasn’t the only one who hada problem withNew World’s PvE options. Summit1g hopped on with similar criticisms when it came to the way that AI enemies work. He also criticized the different enemies that were in the game, however, his comments were less about the variety of enemies and more about how, as he watched other people play, there didn’t appear to be a big difference between level 20 and level 60 enemies. Both Summit1g and Asmongold expressed hopes that these issues would be tweaked before the game’s full release.

The Funniest Ban In New World

One of thefunniest reactions toNew Worldwas one delivered dripping with sarcasm. AnnieFuchsia was having a good time trying out all the things that players can do in the new MMO’s world. That is, she was having fun until she was suddenly banned. According to the Twitch streamer, she wasn’t banned for any kind of cheating behavior, at least not the kind of cheating behavior most people would expect. Annie said that she got banned, apparently for life, because she decided to milk a cow. Asmongold spoke to theNew Worlddevelopment team and get AnnieFuchsia unbanned, but the meme is still indicative of the game’s current status.

Needless to say, she and other Twitch streamers have found a game that has some work to do if it’s going to give more established MMOs a real run for the money.
