Summary

InLethal Company, players travel to different moons and expose themselves to weather elements and monsters that pose a risk to their lives. Some moons may have rainy, foggy, or stormy weather conditions that challenge the team as they transport scrap from the building to the ship. One weather condition, aneclipsed moon, is often an immediate death sentence for the entire team.

Although fascinating phenomena in real life, eclipsed moons pose dangerous risks for the team. In these orange and hazy environments, the scariest monsters in the gamewill spawn instantaneously outside the ship. Thus, it is highly recommended that players only travel to eclipsed moons if they are experienced in the game and knowledgeable about how to handle monsters. In a pinch where eclipsed moons may be the only option or players require a challenge, everyone must know the best tips on how to survive.

1Have A Full Team

Riding Solo? It’s A No-Go

The first piece of advice is quite simple:don’t go to an eclipsed moon alone. Many players enjoy the challenge ofplayingLethal Companysolo. However, eclipsed moons are definitely not the opportunity to try this. Gather at least three other experienced friends in the lobby before landing. Ensure that everyone knows their role and is up-to-date on how to avoid imminent threats.

To increase chances of survival and scrap retention, players can downloadmods that increase the number of peoplethat can inhabit the ship. Mods likeMoreCompanyandBiggerLobbycan allow up to 40 people on one ship. The more, the merrier!

2Keep Quiet

Let’s Play The Quiet Game

Before landing the ship on an eclipsed moon, it is critical to remind everyone to kindly close their mouths. Eclipsed moons are often littered withEyeless Dogs that can kill the entire crewbefore setting foot outside the ship. These monsters are blind, obviously, but can pick up even theslightestcues from a player’s microphone and rip them to pieces in seconds.

Some have suggested that everyone on board shouldmute their microphoneson an eclipsed moon to eliminate any chances of being heard by enemies. This is widely considered to be cheating because it provides players with an unfair advantage, but it’s a helpful strategy nonetheless.

3Keep One Person On The Ship

Nominate A Qualified Ship Monitor

Even if the weather conditions are fair, it’s a good idea to designate one person to stay on the ship to monitor safety conditions and protect the scrap onboard. This person should stay up-to-date on the team and their surrounding area byusing terminal commandsto open locked doors, disable turrets and landmines, and warn the team about oncoming monsters.

Some may view the ship monitor as a passive role and should be given to the most inexperienced or frightened player on board, but this role is pivotal on eclipsed moons. This person should only communicate with the teamusing a signal transmitterto avoid being heard by monsters in their area. As a last-ditch effort, they can buy cheap items with credits and distract enemies with the dropship’s song. This will allow the team to safely return to the ship.

4Close The Ship Door

Haven’t You Ever Heard Of Privacy?

The ship monitor(s) should keep the doors of the ship closed as often as possible to avoid being heard or seen by enemies in their area. This can be done by using the panel on the left-hand side of the ship, closest to the door. The green button opens the door and thered button closes it. Press the E key to interact with the buttons.

Keep in mind that the hydraulics prevent the door from being closed for too long. A few seconds after closing the door, the battery percentage will creep down to 0%. This means there’s a 30-second window that players have to keep the doors closed at a time. After that, they must wait until the percentage begins to climb again to close it. Close that door when monsters are threatening to board the ship, but remember to open it again for other players to sneak back in.

Two angles of a strategy people use to block off a section of the ship as a safe room for hiding against monsters

5Build A Safe Room

The Perfect Place To Party… Or Panic

The ship comes equipped with furniture like the terminal, a shelf, and a cabinet for storage. These items, and other ship upgrades, can be moved to create a makeshift safe room to protect against monsters if they happen to invade the ship.Move furniture around the shipby pressing B, rotating the items with R, and storing them with the X key.

Eyeless Dogs often charge the ship head-on if they hear voices nearby, so players can strategize by closing off a small space with furniture items to block their enemy’s path. Just make sure the crew can navigate cleanly around it in case they must make a hasty escape. This strategy can also be used to sort and protect high-value loot.

6Use Teleporters

Hitching A Ride To The Beyond

After gaining enough credits, players ofLethal Companycan buy a teleporter that can zap them to the ship from any location.Use the teleporterby lifting the glass and pressing the red button on the left-hand side of the brake lever. The unfortunate thing about this teleporter is that all the items from their inventory get left behind. With that being said, teleporters are often put to good use when collecting dead bodies to avoid casualty fines.

The company store also supplies an inverse teleporter. This can transport anyone from the ship to a random area of the building indoors. On eclipsed moons, many use the inverse teleporter to dodge all the monsters waiting for them outside the ship. There is, however, a risk that this teleporter will take a player directly into the line of fire or into a series of locked rooms where they cannot get out. Although they are very useful tools, use the teleporters wisely.

7Use Weapons Against Enemies

Against Life’s End, You Must Defend

While some monsters are inescapable and unable to be killed, there are plenty of weapons players can use to defend themselves. Aside from flashlights, shovels are often one of the first purchases the team makes. Shovels areexcellent items in the gamethat can be used to strike monsters like hoarding bugs, spiders, and masked enemies.

There’s plenty more where that came from. The team should save up their credits for a zap gun or stun grenade to incapacitate their enemies. If anyoneencounters The Nutcracker inside, try to sneak behind it while it’s scanning and steal his shotgun. This weapon can be used to kill almost all enemies in the game. Even scrap items like a laser pointer can be used to distractenemies such as the Forest Keeper.

8Prioritize High-Value Scrap

Keep The Pricey And Toss The Dicey

There is a certain hierarchy when it comes to scrap inLethal Company. While small items like metal sheets and hairbrushes can add up after a certain amount, players should not risk their lives over them. On eclipsed moons, try to make the fewest trips to and from the building byprioritizing high-value scrap itemslike gold bars, cash registers, and paintings first.

It’s best to avoid noisy scrap on eclipsed moons, no matter how valuable it may be. A few items in the game make noise that can attract monsters. Consider leaving behind scrap such as robots, chattering teeth, old phones, and airhorns for these reasons. Be cautious about carrying dangerous items likecomedy and tragedy masksas well.

9Use The Loud Horn

Silence Is Golden But Amplification Hits Different

While the quiet game rule still applies when navigating eclipsed moons, there are certain opportunities when noise can be the team’s ticket to survival. Afterpurchasing the Loud Horn from the storeat the terminal, the item will immediately spawn on the ship. Interact with the Loud Horn by walking up to it and holding down theE keyfor as long as it is necessary.

A ship monitor might be inclined to use this horn to attract monsters toward the ship and away from other players who are attempting to bring scrap back. Remember to continue closing the doors and staying in makeshift safe rooms to avoid incoming enemies. The Loud Horn could also be used to warn the team about something like deaths and time constraints or indicate the crew of the ship’s location.

10Get In & Get Out

Looting Is An Art And Timing Is Everything

Depending on the random seed the team is given, players who enter the building will have different avenues to travel to find scrap. If they’re lucky, there will be enough loot for everyone to grab and transport back to the ship in the first few minutes after they arrive. If that is not the case, it is important to know when to cut losses. If too many players die or get lost, the ship monitor might be forced to leave.

Don’t be a hero and try to go deep into the maze of doors to find the best loot. While prioritizing high-value loot is a helpful tip to maximize profits on eclipsed moons, it’s just as important to get in and get out as quickly as possible to avoid the monsters that spawn in droves as the hours fly by. The chances of a successful run are much higher in the earlier hours of the day, so be quick and get that loot!
