Summary
The latest season ofDestiny 2brings with it some very Hive-centric gear for players to earn, but one player’s attempt to show off some of this gear ends with hilariously disastrous results. Plenty of players pride themselves on their guardian’s fashion game, and given the amount of shaders, armor pieces, and ornaments available to choose from, it is a deep rabbit hole they can get lost in. While players will be quick to highlight their fashion accomplishments, especially withSeason of the Witch’s new gear, one player’s experience shows they still need to be mindful of their surroundings.
Season of the Witch is the latest season ofDestiny 2and sees the spotlight return to Savathun, who the Vanguard hesitantly seek the aid of in order to safely traverse The Witness' portal. However, before the Witch Queen can be resurrected, her ghost Immaru asks guardians to deal with the looming threat of Xivu Arath. To combat the Hive’s god of war, Eris Morn taps into the power of the Hive herself, transforming into a new Hive god while players serve as her acolytes to empower her for an eventual battle with Xivu Arath.

Along with the new activities and story to dig into, players were keen to get their hands on the season’s new Hive-themed gear, but one player’s desire to show off this gear did not end well while inside theWarden of Nothingstrike. Reddit user Tenrin_Ringle is the player in question who attempted to show off the new warlock helmet for Season of the Witch using the game’s selfie-emote while a light can be seen closing in from behind. Tenrin learns, too late, that the light is from one of the trains players must avoid at various points during the strike. As a result, they are run over while performing the emote.
Tenrin’s clip, as the title shows, was primarily meant to show off how the Veiled Tithes warlock helmet reacts to light due a translucent layer on top of theSavathun-esq face. It appeared they were trying to use the flash from the selfie emote to show this effect off as the train barrelled toward them. While the train helped accomplish Tenrin’s goal, they were still unable to avoid it before it ran over their guardian.
It isn’t uncommon for players to fall victim to any number of the hazards Bungie has littered across the game’s many activities, with some of the most dangerous being found inDestiny 2’s raids and dungeons.King’s Fall, in particular, has been a longtime bane for players thanks to the poorly-lit maze littered with deadly pitfalls, the Tombship jump-puzzle, and the infamous jumping wall with pistons shooting sporadically. That said, Tenrin’s clip should serve as a reminder for players to remain aware of their surroundings, regardless of how difficult the activity is.
Destiny 2is currently available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
