Here’s a selection of the very best of those creations, all of which could be welcome inspiration for any islanders looking to fashion their own homage to the belovedPokemonseries inAnimal Crossing.

Pallet Town

The starting point for the first generation of Pokemon trainers, most recently remade in 3D forPokemon Let’s Go PikachuandLet’s Go Eevee, provides a flavor of the wider game whilst giving nothing away. Pallet Town’s reputation dwarfs its tiny scope. It’s a town of only two houses and a lab, but it has also been home to two of the series’ greatest Pokemon Trainers, Red and Blue, and the much-loved Professor Oak.

Twitter user LinkMigue shared their recreationof the town, achieved through multiple user houses and some very accurate water and tree plotting, with a short clip of their stroll around it dressed as Red himself. Simple but effective, just like Pallet Town ought to be.

Pokemon Battles

The ingeniousPhotopia photo studio feature on Harv’s Islandis a great playground for developing mock scenes from other games, and this simple but effective version of a Pokemon battle is as cute as it is accurate. Redditor yurkth’s creation pits the inert snapping turtle against Raymond’s emperor butterfly sculpture in a clever approximation of abattle between Squirtle and Butterfree. The surprise reaction is also used to great effect to mimic a trainer being spotted and challenged to battle, and some fencing and custom tiles complete the classic look.

Entire Sinnoh Map

APokemoncreation inAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsdoesn’t need to be limited to places to wander around and things to wear. Asdemonstrated by Reddit user assaultepic, manipulating the island’s topography into a replica of a well-known game’s map can be just as awe-inspiring. Their version of the Sinnoh region, itself based on the northern Japanese island of Sapporo, is a painstakingly crafted and extremely accurate rendition of the beloved region fromPokemon DiamondandPearl.

Battle Frontier

InPokemon Emerald, Game Freak built on the singular Battle Tower ofPokemon Crystalwith the Battle Frontier, a theme park complete with battle centers that each run under particular and challenging rules. Since then, the series has had a range of new battle theme parks over the years, but there’s a certain magic toEmerald’s first effort. Reddit user Work_In_Progress095 has lovinglyrecreated the Battle Frontier parkacross their island, substituting landmarks for fossils and other close approximations that make for a fun throwback to simpler times.
