With the arrival ofThe Last of Us Part 2: Remastered, this guide has been updated to include more detailed information and annotated screengrabs to assist players in locating all of Abby’s coin collectibles in her chapters of the game.
The mid-game twist ofThe Last of Us Part 2puts us in the shoes of Abby, who – up to this point – has been the game’s primary antagonist. As we start to experience the events of the series fromthe other side of the same coin, along the way we can findThe Last of Us 2’s least subtle thematically relevant collectible – coins!
Inheriting the legacy of amateur collectors everywhere,Abby can obtain 36 CoinsthroughoutThe Last of Us Part 2, earning playersthe “Numismatist” trophy.

The Park – Tracking Lesson: Coin Location
Immediately after the climacticconfrontation between Abby and Elliein the theater, we jump back to a younger Abby searching through the woods for her dad. There is onlyone Coinin this area, and it’s impossible to miss.
Tracking Lesson Coin 1 of 1 – Virginia
After walking through the woods, you’ll cut through a public restroom and smash an elevated window with a bottle. Jump through andtake the Virgina Coin from the green dumpsterin the corner.
Seattle Day 1 (Abby) – The Stadium: Coin Locations
In Abby’s version of Seattle Day 1, she will start the day atthe WLF stadiumbefore she sets out on patrol. There arefour Coinsscattered throughout the stands.
The Stadium Coin 1 of 4 – Alaska
Partway through the chapter, you’ll enter Abby and Manny’s room. Heading out onto the bleachers, turn left andgrab the Alaska Coin off the floor by the logs.
The Stadium Coin 2 of 4 – Maine
Walking further down the bleachers through the market,the Maine Coin is sat on a benchright of the last flight of stairs before the dog kennels.
The Stadium Coin 3 of 4 – New Jersey
After playing fetch with Bear (because how couldn’t you?), leave the kennels and follow Mel and Manny off the field. Passing a WLF guard by a desk, you’ll see a wolf mural on the right behind her.The New Jersey Coin is directly beneath it.
The Stadium Coin 4 of 4 – Vermont
After grabbing the truck keys, pass the shooting range and head into the garage. You cangrab the final Coin in The Stadium from a lockeron your left.
Seattle Day 1 (Abby) – On Foot: Coin Locations
The On Foot chapter inThe Last of Us 2begins as Abby, Manny, Mel, and Alice exit a burning truck and enter a warehouse. There arefour Coinsto be found on the way to the FOB.
On Foot Coin 1 of 4 – Kentucky
Upon entering the warehouse, go right tofind the Kentucky commemorative Coin on a lone tableby some lockers.
On Foot Coin 2 of 4 – Massachusetts
Fighting your way pastthe Infectedin the warehouse, you’ll exit out into a garden center. Go straight ahead andgrab the Massachusetts Coin from the last checkout on the left.
On Foot Coin 3 of 4 – Ohio
After anawkward conversation with Mel, boost her up to the second floor of the boar repair store, head upstairs, and she’ll open the locked door for you. On the balcony, take the ladder and prop it up against the wall.The Ohio Coin is located on the table at the top.
On Foot Coin 4 of 4 – Indiana
Spotting the FOB from the roof of the workshop, make your way down to the street and head towards the rusty office trailer. Break the back window with a brick or bottle and climb inside;the Indiana Coin is on a desk inside. You may also find the code to a nearbyLast of Us 2safein here.
Seattle Day 1 (Abby) – The Forward Base: Coin Locations
The Forward Base begins as Abby and Manny arrive in the parking lot outside the WLF base, where Critical Role fans may heareven more familiar voices. There arethree Coinshere.
The Forward Base Coin 1 of 3 – California
In the parking lot, walk up the steps by the trucks along the right.The California Coin is by the railing on the right, near the group of talking soldiers.
The Forward Base Coin 2 of 3 – New Mexico
Walking through the checkpoint gate, take an immediate left and walk around the group of soldiers gathered near the portable toilets next to the tent with the workbench.New Mexico’s Coin is sitting on a crate behind the Wolves.
The Forward Base Coin 3 of 3 – South Carolina
Aftertalking with Norain the morgue, enter the apartment complex and look to the left. The South Carolina Coin ison the far end of a table with two WLF soldiers playing cards.
Seattle Day 1 (Abby) – Hostile Territory: Coin Locations
Returning to Abby and Manny as they make their way to theAquarium after the first flashback, you can finda single Coinin the Hostile Territory chapter ofThe Last of Us 2.
Hostile Territory Coin 1 of 1 – North Dakota
Cutting through a fabric store, no pun intended, you’ll hop through a window and hear some distant gunfire. Scaling the RV, enter the nearby building andtake the North Dakota Coin from a drawer just inside.
Seattle Day 1 (Abby) – The Coast: Coin Locations
The next few Coins aren’t found until a while later, after leavingLev and Yarato fend for themselves in the cargo yard offices. There are a total offour Coinson offer during The Coast.
The Coast Coin 1 of 4 – Alabama
You can add the Alabama Coin to your collection after cutting through the cargo yard filled withthreatening Infected. Climbing up the ruins of an overpass at the far end of the yard, run towardsthe skeleton near the barrier to get this quarter.
The Coast Coin 2 of 4 – West Virginia
A while later, you’ll enter a ship through a hole in the hull and head through a door jammed by a skeleton.Take the crossbow from the skeletonand head upstairs. Clearing out any pesky Infected, take a right and another right to find the West Virginia coin among some luggage at the back of the ferry.
The Coast Coin 3 of 4 – Utah
On the top deck, fight to the rear bridge and force your way inside. Climb the yellow ladder and jump over the hatch,grabbing this Utah Coin on the ground by the mast.
The Coast Coin 4 of 4 – Mississippi
Finally, outside theSeattle Waterfront Aquarium,the Mississippi Coin is sat in the jumping dolphin fountainout front.
Seattle Day 2 (Abby) – The Shortcut: Coin Locations
There aretwo Coinsscattered about The Shortcut section ofThe Last of Us 2, which begins as Abby and Lev leave the aquarium in search of medical supplies.
The Shortcut Coin 1 of 2 – Nevada
Spotting the skyscraper construction elevator when arriving at the base of the rapids, walk to the right and enter the barbershop.The Nevada Coin is on the counter.
The Shortcut Coin 2 of 2 – Colorado
The Colorado Coin is found after crawling your way out of a café filled with thenew Shambler-variant of Infected. Cross the rapids and enter the building on the right, across from the Interbay phone store. On the second floor opticians, walk out onto the awning through the broken window by the blue double doors.The Colorado Coin is right below the window.
Seattle Day 2 (Abby) – The Descent: Coin Locations
Beginning when Abby and Lev land in a pool, The Descent hasfive Coinsto collect.
The Descent Coin 1 of 5 – Illinois
After crashing through the glass ceiling, dive back into the pool andtake the Illinois Coin from below the wateratop the vent.
The Descent Coin 2 of 5 – Oregon
Deep into The Descent, after repelling down the fire hose, you’ll eventually cross a metal beam into a room witha single Shambler. Crossing yet another beam on the right, jump down another level into the room with the Stalker on the wall. Before pushing forward, make a U-turn and hop into room 1107.The Oregon collectible quarter is to the right as you enter.
The Descent Coin 3 of 5 – Wisconsin
Near the bottom of the hotel,get past the Bloaterand enter the elevator shaft. Jumping down a floor, enter the hallway, and break the vending machine glass on the left.The Wisconsin Coin should land in the coin return.
The Descent Coin 4 of 5 – Rhode Island
Finally leaving the hotel, approach the outdoor bar andtake the Rhode Island Coin from behind the counter.
The Descent Coin 5 of 5 – Missouri
Entering the hospital courtyard through the gate, take a right and walk to the end of the hallway in the building where youentered the area as Ellie hours earlier.The Missouri Coin is on the groundby the window.
Seattle Day 2 (Abby) – Ground Zero: Coin Locations
Ground Zero begins as Nora escorts you to the lower levels of the hospital. There aretwo Coinsin this chapter.
Ground Zero Coin 1 of 2 – Washington
The Washington collectible quarter is found in a café on the first floor of the hospital. Following Nora downstairs,grab it from behind the counter on the left.
Ground Zero Coin 2 of 2 – Hawaii
On your way out of the hospital afterthatboss fight, you’ll lift the shutter on a garage. Look to your left as you enter and smash the glass on the booth.The final Coin of Ground Zero can be grabbed from inside.
Seattle Day 3 (Abby) – The Marina: Coin Locations
Since there are no Coins to collect at the start of Day 3, we jump straight to The Marina as Abby and Yara search for a boat. There aretwo Coinsin this subchapter.
The Marina Coin 1 of 2 – Kansas
At the beginning of the segment, as Abby and Yara look out to the marina from a balcony, turn around and head up the steps.The Kansas Coin is on the floor behind where you spawned.
The Marina Coin 2 of 2 – Louisiana
Dropping down the elevator shaft, you’ll arrive at a train station. You canfind the Louisiana Coin to the right of the ramp, beneath the blue tarp.
Seattle Day 3 (Abby) – The Island: Coin Locations
The Island doesn’t begin until afteryour confrontation with the sniper, and you set foot on the Seraphite island. There arethree Coinsto find here.
The Island Coin 1 of 3 – Idaho
Walking under an overpass, you’ll climb a ladder with Yara. At the top, enter the back of the semi-truck on the left andtake the Idaho quarter from the floor.
The Island Coin 2 of 3 – North Carolina
Hearing the Seraphite warning signal as youventure deeper into Scar territory, walk towards the waterfall, and investigate the car to the left.Near the open door sits the North Carolina Coin.
The Island Coin 3 of 3 – Montana
In the first combat arena of this subchapter, head to the attic of the hut opposite the lumber mill using the ladder or climbing the logs.The Montana Coin is by an open window atop some boxes.
Seattle Day 3 (Abby) – The Escape: Coin Location
Afterreuniting with Lev, The Escape begins. There isone final Coinin this segment ofThe Last of Us 2.
The Escape Coin 1 of 1 – Arkansas
Cutting through a convenience store as nearby WLF soldiers patrol above, exit out onto the street. Before crawling under the brewery truck, look left andgrab the Arkansas Coin from behind a shopping cart near a barricade.
