The Division 2is a tactical looter-shooter RPG that endows players with dozens of different skills. These skills come in the form of tools – military-grade equipment, with each piece having its own use on the battlefield. Players can choose to run any pair of tools from a selection of 33 complex gadgets. Each of these gadgets, with its own function, can aid a team or harass the enemy. When paired with one another, that’s where these tools really shine.
Some skills, due to their versatility, will show up multiple times on this list of useful skill combos. Take note, however, that these possibilities are not the end-all-be-all. These entries can still be modified to fine-tune to the player’s unique approaches. With that said, here are someuseful skill combosinThe Division 2.

Updated on June 25, 2025 by Rhenn Taguiam:WithThe Division 2kicking off March 2024 with the midway point of its Season 3 for Year 5, fans can expect a lot of twists and turns. Accompanying Season 3 “Vanguard” were the arrival of the Civic Center and Two Bridges, with the Financial District and Battery Park teased for April. With these maps and the season’s new gear poised to bring more changes to the shooter RPG, players may want to figure out which skill combinations may be worthwhile during their current progression. Among suggestions include a staple tanking kit for the Firewall, solutions to deadly robotics, and a solo-compatible toolkit.
Revive Allies While Burning Opponents
Components:
AmongSpecializations inDivision 2, the Firewall is the closest the game has to a viable tank. Armed with the K8-JetStream Flamethrower, the Firewall can set battlefields ablaze if it means debilitating the enemy’s formation, allowing their team to regroup or reposition to take back the advantage. A key skill combo in the Firewall’s arsenal would be theStriker Ballistic Shield & Reviver Hive, specifically tying into the Firewall’s potential to become a sub-support unit.
At its core, theStrike Ballistic Shield’s opening for the Flamethrower easily bolsters the Firewall’s defense to contend with most threats. This allows them to traverse battlefields safely and deploy theirReviver Hivenear downed teammates while they provide supportive fire. This build also supports up-close buffs such as Hunter’s Fury and Adrenaline Rush, making this skill combo quite useful for melee-oriented combatants.

Destroy Bulky Armor And Disable Robots For Faster Missions
When players start tackling higher-level plays withbetterDivision 2weapons, they might find it difficult to contend against the game’s increasing number of heavily-armored foes and robots. Between having to spot their weaknesses and outlasting their durability, the game’s extra layer of challenge can prove difficult for players who don’t know how to bypass these enemies’ weaknesses. This is where theOxidizer Chem Launcher & Jammer Pulsecome in, as this is a skill combo built specifically to destabilize these stronger threats.
Robotics are made easier to deal with once theJammer Pulsedisables hostile electronics and inflicting the Disrupted status. Afterwards, theOxidizer Chem Launchershould deteriorate Armor worn by opponents, leaving them more vulnerable to the players. With the right timing, players can take down human threats and leave the robot parts for scraps, and encounters can be finished much faster if this build is used with a heavy-firepower team.

Stun Enemies And Bots For Quick Kills
Players who want a stealthier approach to takedowns inDivision 2could also considerShock Trap & Jammer Pulse, especially in areas with a larger presence of robotics and human hostels. This time around, theJammer Pulseis in charge of disabling electronics while theShock Trapstuns human opponents.
When used properly, this build should give players enough time to take down whichever targets they need to eliminate or even have the entire team rush in for the quick kill. Compared to the riskier Oxidier Chem Launcher, the Shock Trap can be deployed in advance - allowing players to take down groups of humans and robots separately and inpositions more favorable to them.

Secure Health And Armor In One Trip
It’s not always possible for a player to meet teammates to accompany them in difficultDivision 2encounters, which means players need to anticipate being on their own throughout their experience. Since this necessitates creating a heavy-hitting DPS build to sustain solo encounters, theReviver Hive & Fixer Dronecombination can help players secure more survivability regardless of their setup.
At its core, theFixer Droneensures players get their Armor repaired consistently during heavy firefights. Likewise, getting into dangerous situations can have theReviver Hiveguarantee the player’s survivability. In sudden team setups, the Fixer Drone and the Reviver Hive can transform solo players into sub-support units, allowing them to contribute to the fight without being stuck inthe front with a shotgunor the rear with a rifle.

Get To The Frontlines With A Defensive Option
Players who want to spice things up in theirDivision 2gameplay may want to try a more defensive approach. Instead of equipping the standard Ballistic Shield, aCrusader Shieldshould give Agents ample room to maintain an aggressive approach in hostile territories while maintaining both speed and defense.
Since the Crusader Shield can only protect the user’s upper body, theDefender Droneis an ideal partner as it can deflect other bullets coming the player’s way. Even if the Defender Drone deflects upper-body shots, the Crusader Shield can still then tank much of the other damage. This combination can then incentivize riskier plays without the defensive fallout.

Lure Enemies In The Open For Quick Kills
It’s one thing to take opponents out by stealth, and another for a player to fool opponents completely in theirDivision 2gameplay. The first half of this Skill Combo is theDecoy, which upon deployment will distract enemies and encourage them to focus their attention on the Decoy’s direction.
When enemies reveal themselves, this is the ideal time for players to pick them off. Should enemies slip past the Decoy’s illusion, aStriker Droneprepared in advance should tip players off on the general location of other hostiles to avoid unnecessary flanking.

Take Out Enemies From Afar And While They Approach
One of the best approaches a Division Agent could have in anyDivision 2mission is absolute offense, especially when they’re almost always alone fighting various unrulyDivision 2factions in dystopian Washington DC. Thanks to sophisticated Division tech, Agents have a way of outmaneuvering any number of foes, with theSniper Turret + Striker Droneallowing players toapproach any range of combat, regardless of the situation.
At its core, the Striker Drone is easily a nifty companion in terms of sheer firepower. This mobile Drone can pick offtoughDivision 2enemieswithin range due to relentless shooting, giving players room to focus on other targets. The Sniper Turret is a decent targeting back-up as well, as it also attacks the same target players are aiming at with a slight delay. When timed perfectly, players can have the Sniper aim at a target, have the Striker attack potential backup, with players providing extra firepower only when necessary.

Distract Opponents While Repairing Everyone Else’s Gear
When outnumbered bydangerous foes inDivision 2like the Hyenas, players know that sometimes a diversion is easily the best form of defense. This build capitalizes on the potential of the Holographic DistractionDecoyto provide something of the sort, with this Skill creating a life-like projection of the player to grab the attention of foes. This allows players to move to a safer space while enemies are distracted.
TheArtificer Hiveemphasizes the specialization of the Agent as an offensive support, especially since this Hive variant exclusive to the Technician repairs and improves the performances of other deployed Skills. When utilized properly, this Technician-heavy build can transform otherwise struggling teams into powerhouses. Combined with the Decoy, players can provide struggling teammates with much-needed Artificer support while the double redirects foes to another direction.

Long-Distance Barrage With Heavy Backup
Sometimes, one of the best approaches a Division Agent can have when outnumbered is through outright chaos inDivision 2gameplay. This build capitalizes on the area-of-effect nature of theArtillery Turret, which makes it a great way of scattering tight groups of opponents, attracting the attention of coordinated foes, orsowing chaos before finishing the enemy squad. This is thanks to the main focus of the Artillery Turret, which allows it to launch explosive ordinances to a location, making it a perfect complement to the Demolitionist Specialization.
TheStriker Droneonce again proves its place as the perfect complement to the other Skills when it comes to building toolkits. This Drone’s target-based focus-firing can help players finish off reinforcements before they even get to attack the player and/or the Artillery Turret.

Scatter Opponents With A Nearby Strike Drone For Good Measure
Despite the forward-facing nature of Division Agents whenoutfitted withTheDivision 2Skills, this doesn’t mean players can no longer approach things stealthily. Key to this build is theCluster Seeker Mines, which deploys smaller seeking mines that “selects” stationary targets and explode in contact. Theoretically, this Skill alone serves toscatter clusters of opponents, either killing them off immediately or ruining their routine and leaving them quite open for players to strike a quick attack.
TheStriker Droneserves a dual purpose for this particular build. Its target-seeking meta gives players room to strike reinforcements before they even pose a threat, while this can also ensure targets of the Seeker Mines are finished off before they recover.
