It’s been almost a year and a half since the latest entry in theGears of Warseries,Gears 5, released on Xbox One and PC back in 2019. Almost two years later, the game is still getting content through its Operation system, withGears 5getting Operation 6earlier this week.
ThoughGears 5is still getting new content, The Coalition is no doubt hard at work planning and developing the next entry in theGears of Warseries. Now, the Cinematics Producer ofThe Coalitionhas tweeted out that the studio is actively hiring full-time positions on the team for roles such as Community Manager Director, Lead Cinematic Animator, and much more.

The full list of full-time job positions features 12 roles, with an additional 12 contract roles available as well. The website reads, “The Coalition is looking for people who are a great cultural fit with our team and have the energy, passion, and determination to get things done.” The studio is looking to hire a Senior 3D Marketing Artist, as well as several Senior Gameplay-related positions on the team. Naturally, most of these open positions don’t give any concrete details onthe upcomingGears of War 6titlecurrently in development, but it is known that these positions will be related to futureGears of Warsprojects, as the website specifically makes mention of the series.
However, something that’s also known is what these positions likely aren’t hiring for. There have been plenty of rumors going around thatGears of War 2was getting a remaster sometime in 2021. Unfortunately, thoseGears of War 2Remastered rumors were shut downby the officialGears of WarTwitter account. While the tweet mentioned that the focus was explicitly onGears 5at the moment, a sequel is no doubt currently in development for the Xbox Series X.
Though this past year has been a period of relative uncertainty when it comes to many people’s careers and job opportunities, it seems like a decent section of the video game industry is still looking to hire new employees. Recently, the studio behind manyLegend of Zeldaremake titles,Grezzo, was hiring for a new projectthat has not been revealed as of yet. Those with experience developing games or with experience surrounding marketing or management should definitely keep an eye out for video game studios in the hiring process.
ThoughGears of War 6is likely still a ways off, this is still good news for fans of the series. It seems The Coalition has no intention of slowing down on developing the series. Additionally, there’s also room for other potential titles in theGears of Warseries aside from mainline entries, such asGears of War: JudgementorGears Tactics. Until news of the next entry in theGears of Warseries comes to light, fans of the series can hop intoGears 5’s Operation 6 content right now.
