Summary
Genshin Impact’s most recent update introduced a whole new area for players to explore called Veluriyam Mirage, also known as Bottleland. Veluriyam Mirage follows Version 1.6’s Golden Apple Archipelago and Version 2.8’s reconstructed Golden Apple Archipelago as the third limited-time location fromGenshin Impact’s annual summer updates. Like both events that took place in the Golden Apple Archipelago, Version 3.8’s event takes players on a trip away from Teyvat’s mainland to a place filled with wonder, amusement, and, most importantly, treasure. ManyGenshin Impactplayers find the limited-time locations to be a breath of fresh air from the game’s main content.
The first event featuringGenshin Impact’s Golden Apple Archipelagohad players explore tropical islands for the first time with fan-favorite characters. The second Golden Apple Archipelago event went further beyond by having players explore new islands featuring special domains designed around characters Kaedehara Kazuha, Xinyan, Fischl, and Mona. Veluriyam Mirage happens in a whole new setting in a fantastical domain filled with games, puzzles, and roller coasters. Overall, the limited-time maps and their story quests provide pleasant and wholesome experiences, but there’s one big problem with them: they’re only available for a single update each.

Genshin Impact’s Limited-Time Locations Should Be Added Similarly to Enkanomiya and The Chasm
Limited-time content is one of the most irritating parts about video games, as making content available only once in a specific period of time punishes players who aren’t as active or are taking a break from a game.GenshinImpactis no stranger to this concept, as the game’s had temporary events since its inception. Out of all the temporary events, the ones involving theGolden Apple Archipelagoand Veluriyam Mirage shouldn’t be so short-lived, as it should be possible for them to be inserted into the base game for all players who missed out on them since they’re arguably some of the best events.
If both versions of the Golden Apple Archipelago and Veluriyam Mirage were to be added to the game, they could be added similarly to how Enkanomiya and The Chasm were. Enkanomiya and The Chasm are two permanent additions to theGenshin Impactmap, although they’re separate from the general map of Teyvat. However, Enkanomiya and The Chasm are kind of similar to the Golden Apple Archipelago and Veluriyam Mirage, as all five locations have a main story quest, lots of land to explore, and treasures to find. Enkanomiya andThe Chasmdon’t have nearly as much content as Teyvat nations like Inazuma and Sumeru, so it’s possible that the Golden Apple Archipelago and Bottleland can fit in the base game as well.

Genshin Impact’s Limited-Time Locations Need to be Perfect Imitations of Their Original Versions
The return of the Golden Apple Archipelago and Veluriyam Mirage sounds like a great idea with no downsides, but there would be a few concerns regarding their returns toGenshin Impact. The event quests tied to the limited-time locations should be faithful reproductions without any omissions. This means thatHoyoverse shouldn’t take out anything, such as the voice actingand cutscenes that were present in the original events. Also, Hoyoverse shouldn’t exclude any exploration rewards obtainable from the original events, such as Primogems, materials, and Serenitea Pot decorations.
Furthermore, the return of the limited-time summer update locations should make it possible for players to earn thelimited-timeGenshin Impactskinsthat were freely available during their original events. This would include Fischl’s character outfit, “Ein Immernachtstraum,” which was obtainable during Version 2.8 and Kaeya’s new skin, “Sailwind Shadow,” which can be freely acquired until the end of Version 3.8. Ultimately, the returns of the Golden Apple Archipelago and Veluriyam Mirage event should recapture the original experiences, and players who missed out on them should have a chance to enjoy them as much as others.
Genshin Impactis now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
