For many years, it seemed as though Femshep went underappreciated in theMass Effectcommunity. While Mark Meer and Jennifer Hale both deliver powerhouse performances as Commander Shepard, in the early years of the franchise it was Meer that saw more plaudits due to the amount of gamers using a male Shepard. It’s good to see Hale eventually get the recognition she deserves for her brilliant performance in the role. For many players, the choice purely came down toMass Effect’s romance optionsthroughout the trilogy. Certain romances are locked to either male or female Shepard, and that can make the decision for plenty of gamers. For example, Tali romances are restricted to male Shepards, whereas only female Shepards are able to romance Garrus.

The talented gamer is Redditor themakermage, who shared the incredible recreation of Femshep’s dress fromMass Effect 3. The user sewed the dress themselves, but unfortunately didn’t state exactly what materials it’s made up of. That doesn’t take away from the remarkable craftsmanship on display here, as themakermage perfectly crafted one of the series' most iconic outfits.Mass Effecthas plenty of customization optionsfor players to try out throughout the entire trilogy, but this dress is a popular casual outfit choice among many of the Femshep players out there.
Users in the thread loved the dress, and had plenty of questions for its creator. One player even asked if it was good to dance in, referencing the famous Shepard Shuffle, the protagonist’s notoriously awful dance moves throughout theMass Effecttrilogy. The Redditor delivered, describing it as “Perfect for the Shepard Shuffle.” That only makes the recreation better, knowing that if they wanted, the Redditor could hit the town in the dress and show the people the Shepard Shuffle.
It’s unknown if BioWare intends to continueShepard’s story inMass Effect 4. It would be a controversial decision, with many in the community feeling that Shepard’s arc was complete by the end ofMass Effect 3. However, after the divisive entry that wasMass Effect: Andromeda, it would be understandable if the developer felt the need to bring familiar faces back in order to get gamers back on board. The best Destroy ending inMass Effect 3certainly left the possibility of the character’s fate to be open-ended. With Liara already confirmed for a return, gamers will have to be patient to see what the developer chooses to do with the iconic Commander Shepard.
