The addition of Sora toSuper Smash Bros. Ultimateset the internet ablaze, as many had hoped and dreamed of his addition for a long, long time. There were many who wanted to see it happen but didn’t believe it, as there werea lot of reasons Sora wouldn’t come toSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate. He did, however, and that’s a wrap onSuper Smash Bros. UltimateDLC.

It’s a bittersweet moment for many fans.Sora is the perfect choice for the lastSuper Smash Bros. Ultimatefighter, but he is the last one. What’s next for director Masahiro Sakurai remains to be seen. The line-up for Smash Ultimate had fans expressing their gratitude for his work all over the world, but it was indeed a “thank you” and not a farewell. Sakurai has previously mentioned not wanting to retire, so it’ll be interesting to see what he goes to next, but for now, he appears to be having some fun with it.

As seen below, he recently posted an image on his personal Twitter of a cat with an Among Us toy. Google/Twitter translates the message as, “with the development of “Smash Bros.” finished, you no longer have to worry about suspicion of participating in the war. Now, even if you put out such a picture, there is no problem.” Indeed, the joke is that, had he posted this before Sora’s reveal forSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate, there would certainly be many in the comments thinking it was a tease for the upcoming fighter.

In fact, this happened quite recently too. Prior to Sora’s reveal, Sakurai posted an image many associated with the Terminator (and something many pointed out was referenced inDoom 2016). Many jumped to the conclusion that it wasDoomguy when Sakurai was just making a simple post, not altogether too different from this one.

Now, at least for a little bit, Sakurai seems to be having fun without that reaction to anything he posts. Of course, whenever and if he ever confirms that he’s working on a new game, those reactions will likely return, but it’s good Sakurai can get moments like these now thatSuper Smash Bros. Ultimatedevelopmentis largely done.

It’s not the end forSSBUobviously, and its future remains bright as a beloved fighting game. On the flip side of the image,Among Us’ futureis looking strong too. It recently announced its console release date as December 14, and there’s a strong chance that this release gives the viral social deduction game a second wind.
