Rocksteady is known to craft engaging gameplay loops, though, and if it has been able to devise something special in an online multiplayer landscape, that could be truly emergent in the industry. Common trappings such as a Battle Pass aside,Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League’s unique traversalhas demonstrated that it could be a challenging experience with steep learning curves, much likeBatman: Arkham Knight.
Indeed,Batman: Arkham Knightis arguably the pinnacle of gameplay in the Arkhamverse, culminating all mechanics that had come before it, and its star-awarding challenges are a perfect representation of that. Hand-to-hand combat mixed with gadget variation is only the basic characteristic of these challenges, and earning more stars can be a true test of mettle. However,Kill the Justice Leagueneeds to tone down the difficulty present in trying to complete challenges and achievements in order to avoid the immense difficulty spike thatBatman: Arkham Knight’s AR challengeshave.

Batman: Arkham Knight is a Pain to Collect Achievements for
BecauseBatman: Arkham Knightwas presumably going to be the finalArkhamgameand the last in a trilogy featuring Batman as its protagonist, it seems like Rocksteady wanted to give players as many challenges as possible. This is as true of its open-world island districts as it is of its AR challenges, with the latter being much more arduous.
Rocksteady fans will not be alarmed to hear how many AR challengesArkham Knighthas, considering how many playable characters are available and how manyRiddler trophy challengeswere presented inBatman: Arkham AsylumorBatman: Arkham City. Rather, these AR achievements are particularly grueling and painstaking.

Arkham Knightfeatures over 100 achievements and endeavoring to complete them all is a task for none other than the most exceptional Caped Crusaders out there, leaving casual players out of the question. Having this many tough achievements could be seen as a boon since it means that there is a lot to strive toward, but it can also exclude fans who would otherwise enjoy trying to hit 100 percent completion in achievements on their platform of choice.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice Leagueshould not be a slouch when it comes to extracurricular challenges, but it needs to have engaging ways to encourage players and not nearly be as demanding of the player’s time.Batman: Arkham Knight’s challenges were primarily sought out for their completion medals, for example, and that offered nothing more substantial than the player’s satisfaction in knowing they were awarded three stars for their efforts and placed on a leaderboard among their peers.
It is unknown ifKill the Justice Leaguewill even have AR challenges such as these—instead, it could be diving fully into its identity as a live-service title and compartmentalizing associable challenges into particular game modes. Games modes were actuallyleaked as part ofKill the Justice League’s menu UI, lending credence to the idea.
Multiplayer elements could be exciting in terms of how Rocksteady manages to craft interesting challenges. In this regard, as long asKill the Justice League’s platform achievements are palatable for all players, it would be nice to see Rocksteady incorporate all features the game has to offer.
