Bethesda’sStarfieldpresented a whole universe to explore, and it’s unlikely that all of its secrets have been unlocked. There’s always a new planet to visit, a new NPC to meet, and new spaceships to build. In typical Bethesda style, it’s an open world that allows for endless gameplay.
The studio isn’t quite done with its story just yet. A newStarfieldDLC titled Shattered Space is on the way, and not much is known about it yet. However, there are some inclusions that would make it a great expansion.
Learn More About the Va’ruun
There are many factions inStarfield, including theFreestar Collective and the United Colonies, to name a few. It’s possible to join these factions and learn more about their history, how they function, and where their values lie. It’s worth the time to experience them all, even if it’s not done in a single playthrough. Players even get the chance to penetrate the Crimson Fleet and become part of a gang of space pirates.
Things are different with theHouse Va’ruun. It is a secretive spiritual group, and though its headquarters can be found in New Jemison, there’s not much to learn about this mysterious group. Not much is known about their beliefs, except that they greatly value grav jumping, which supposedly led to one ship encountering the Great Serpent. It’s possible for players to pick the Serpent’s Embrace as one of the traits, but doing that doesn’t reveal anything more about the group, at least for now.
Why is the Va’ruun Faction Important?
A DLC that addresses this endlessly interesting group would finally provide some answers to big mysteries. Most importantly, it would flesh the more spiritual side of the game. ThoughBethesda’s gameclearly aims to juxtapose the spiritual and the scientific, it is often the scientific side that is given more credibility.
Starfield Should Have More Romance Options
The romance options provide a cheeky side to the sometimes excessively cerebralStarfield. By acting a certain way around them and saying the right things, they develop feelings of affection that blossom into a relationship. It’s a fun aspect to try out, but it’s currently limited to the main characters of the crew,such as Sarah Morgan. Ideally, this should be expanded upon in the upcoming DLC, allowing players to shatter spaces in a different kind of way.
It’ll be a move fans won’t expect, and makeStarfield’s world feel more realistic if, for example, it was possible to romance NPCs that are not part of the crew. It should also be possible to have more than one partner, so long as it’s an agreed-upon situation. Furthermore,Bethesda shouldn’t leave Vasco out of the picture. Even robots need love.
What Has Been Revealed About the Shattered Space DLC?
Not much at all is known about theShattered Space DLC, except that it is set for a 2024 release date. Those who have a Premium or Constellation edition will gain instant access, while the rest will have to make a purchase.
