Summary

One nostalgicStarfieldplayer is looking to conquer the universe as the dastardly Lord Farquaad from the originalShrekmovie. Bethesda’s latest open-world RPG was available to players who ordered the premium editions last week, but now everyone can climb into their fully customized spaceship and exploreStarfield’s vast array of over 1,000 procedurally generated planets. In true Bethesda fashion,Starfieldallows players to journey across this universe at their own pace and create their in-game avatar however they see fit.

Naturally, some players have usedStarfield’s character and ship customization tools to recreate people and spacecraft from popular movies. Such ships include the Millennium Falcon fromStar Warsand the Planet Express fromFuturama, and players have startedexploringStarfieldas Buzz Lightyearfrom theToy Storyfranchise or Syndrome fromThe Incredibles. Now another character from a beloved CGI children’s film of the early-to-mid 2000s is joining them in the final frontier ofStarfield, and he expects nothing less than absolute perfection during his interstellar travels.

Not too long afterStarfieldlaunched for PC and Xbox Series X/Sa few days ago, a Reddit user by the name of OleiferousOwl shared their in-game rendition of the nefarious Lord Farquaad ofShrekfame. OleiferousOwl’s take on the pint-size tyrant has Farquaad’s broad cleft chin and long, black pageboy haircut, but he is much taller than his big-screen counterpart due toStarfieldnot allowing players to adjust their character’s height. This hasn’t stopped otherStarfieldfans on Reddit from sharing their compliments and quotes from the movie.

Lord Farquaad was voiced by John Lithgow and served as themain villain of the firstShrekfilm, where he sought to secure his place as the king of Duloc by marrying Princess Fiona. Despite being killed off, Farquaad has appeared as an enemy in multipleShrekvideo games. Players have also named theirShrek-inspiredAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsislands after Duloc, the medieval kingdom Farquaad ruled with an iron fist. Shrek himself is set to return to the gaming world in the upcomingDreamWorks All-Star Kart Racing, but it isn’t clear if his original nemesis will be involved.

Lord Farquaad might have died early on in theShrekuniverse, but the wicked ruler lives on inStarfieldthanks to OleiferousOwl’s impressive rendition. Any aliens or fairy tale creatures might wish to steer clear of Farquaad as he travels the stars in search of planets to build his new kingdom.

Starfieldis available on PC and Xbox Series X/S.
