This guide will show players how to completely avoid fall damage with the right gear and will detail which perks are needed to decrease how much fall damage the player’s character will take.
How To Avoid Fall Damage In Starfield
There are two methods inStarfieldthat can be used to avoid fall damage. The first is to simplynot jump off a platform from a high height, and the second is touse boost packs. Boost packsact as temporary jetpacks for players to get more distance from a jump or gently fall to the ground. Boost packs can be found on some wearable packs, and players can get one early through theConstellation Packearned by completing main missions. Players can use the boost packs by pressing and holding theJump buttonwhile in midair, though the character will start to ascend the longer the button is held.
However, players will not be able to use boost packs until they spend at least oneSkill PointinBoost Pack Training, located in thefirst row of the Tech tree. Players can then further upgrade the perk with more Skill Points for boost packs to use less fuel and regenerate more quickly.

How To Decrease Fall Damage In Starfield
If players do happen to jump from extreme heights with a pack that does not include a boost pack, there are ways to lessen how much fall damage they will take.
