Indie game developer Everything is Full of Gods confirmed that itsSouls-like action RPGMoonraywill be coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X. Fans should expect more games to be announced for the consoles soon as Xbox holds itsXbox Series X gameplay revealevent this week.
In a press release, Everything is Full of Gods announced thatMoonraywould be available onSteam Early Accesson June 05, 2025, ahead of a planned, full release in 2021. The game, which has been called an “intergalactic adventure” and a “surreal third-person action RPG” by the developer, will be available on next-generation consoles “at a later date.“Moonraystars a woman who has been turned into a golem by a godlike being.

Moonray’s gameplay, seen briefly in a new teaser trailer for the game, will be instantly familiar to anyone who has played aDark Soulsgame. The golem protagonist will be hacking and slashing her way through enemies, also making sure to parry and block attacks, and get some additional damage in with a weapon called the Hyperblaster. Players will earn materials, before using them to upgrade their character at resting points called “Beams of Light” which sound likeDark Soulsbonfires by another name.
While that may sound closer toDark Soulsthan some would like, Everything is Full of Gods seems to be trying to setMoonrayapart with its art. The game takes cues from Salvador Dali’s surrealist paintings, and while there doesn’t seem to be a melting clock in sight, the strange natural, polygonal world is just his style. It’s early days but those who are fans ofvideo game artmay find something to like here.
Only a few games have been confirmed for next-gen consoles, such asCyberpunk 2077, which will have an Xbox Series X version, so fans are grateful for more announcements. However, many will understandably be skeptical aboutMoonray,as it is the first game from Everything is Full of Gods. Maneuvering early access and getting the game ready for new consoles aren’t easy things for any developer, and many console gamers will want to wait to see more before they add this one to their calendars.
Moonray may also find competition fromPS5 launch titleGodfall. WhileGodfalldoesn’t have Dali’s style, it does haveSouls-like gameplay, and its name suggests that its story will be about some sort of god.
Moonraywill be released on PC in Steam Early Access on August 04, 2025, and it will come to PS5 and Xbox Series X at a later date.
