Once transformed into Metal Overlord, it’s up to Super Sonic to take his pals into the air to deal the manic mecha his final blows. It’s an exhilarating fight, made more thrilling by Crush 40’s epic themeWhat I’m Made Of, and is unique by having twelve characters defeating the same enemy.

The player must avoid Gemerl’s beam attacks and negotiate using both Sonic and Eggman’s Egg Mobile to fire energy beams at Gemerl. What’s more, halfway through the battle Gemerl gets even crazier and wildly spins as he flails his robotic “arms.” This is truly memorable since the boss is so powerful due to being totally out of control, forcing the bitter rivals to team up as it’s the only way to stop him.

5Death Egg Robot (Sonic the Hedgehog 2)
