After chapter 10 of the Story, players will be able to change Sung Jinwoo’s job and unlock the Army of Shadows inSolo Leveling: Arise. The Army Of Shadows gives players even more things to upgrade and increase in power to help tackle harder missions and gates.
The Army of Shadows may not be as in-depth as Sung Jinwoo or Hunters, but can still be upgraded as individuals. Players can also upgrade the entire army’s level for a massive boost in power, along with increasing that max level to open up further level-ups and make the army even stronger. Shadow Energy is the key item needed to increase the Army Of Shadows' level and players will need a lot of it.

How To Get Shadow Energy In Solo Leveling: Arise
The main method for earning Shadow Energy is by completing gates. Players can unlock and increase the difficulty of gates to increase the amount of Shadow Energyearned with Red Gatesoffering more Shadow Energy than usual.Red Gates reward much more Shadow Energy than regular gatesand should always be prioritized when they appear. Should one be too difficult, attempt to level up in other game modes before coming back and trying again as that gate won’t disappear until you rescan for new gates.
Players can only complete so many gates in a day, but increasing your reputation level can help increase the total number of gate keys the player can hold and receive duringeach daily reset. Shadow Energy can also bepurchased in the Battlefield Of Time Exchange Shoponce players get to a high enough level to participate in it and earn rewards.
Increasing Your Shadow Army Level In Solo Leveling: Arise
Shadow Energy is used to increase your Army of Shadows level by selecting the up arrow in the bottom left of the Army menu. Leveling up your army willincrease the total powerwhile alsoboosting the maximum number of Shades the player can store and use. Shadow Energy is needed for every level increase for your Army, and the max level is not set to five like it is when the Army is first unlocked.
Players can increase the potential max level of their Army of Shadows by eithersummoning new Shadows or promoting the ones they already have. Both of these upgrades will make summoning your Shadowscost more Shades, but the higher Shade count from leveling up your Army Of Shadows will counter the difference. Promoting and summoning new Shadows costs Traces of Shadows, which is a common resource that can be farmed.
