When it comes to gaming, most people tend not to give digital food much thought, unless it’s something required for health, like inBioShock, for example. While there arevideos games that do have iconic food items, such as the cake fromPortalor the mushrooms fromSuper Mario Bros., a lot of the time it’s just there to lend the world a sense of believability. The same can be said forThe Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, in that many fans might not see it as a necessity, unless playing in survival mode. However, it is possible for people to go against their parent’s wishes and actually play with their food, instead.

A user by the name of AggravatingBreak3311 has uploaded a screenshot fromSkyrim, which shows a normal interior location from within the game. Except the room is chock-full of cabbages. Bunched up in one area, the player has showcased the sheer amount of the green, leafy vegetable they’ve managed to collect so far, with there seeming to be hundreds of them. Quite why they’ve decided to do this is not clear.

Given the amount of time that the game has been out and the number of re-releases it’s had over the years, it’s possible the original poster just needed something new to fill the in-game time. It’s also not the first instance of something like this happening. Recently, oneSkyrimplayer decided to fill Breezehome entirely with cheese, creating a waist high sea of wheels and wedges that cover the entire floor of the Whiterun home, causing some in the comments to refer to it as “Cheese Home” and “Brie’s Home.”

As mentioned above,Skyrim’s survival mode makes eating and drinking a necessity, so players will need to actually procure food items along their journey in order to survive. It also removes fast traveling entirely, cuts carry weight in half, and makes it possible for players to freeze to death if they don’t have the correct attire or don’t seek warmth and shelter. In general, survival mode is there to give fans a more immersive challenge.

With theSkyrim Anniversary Editionreleasing late last year, Bethesda has managed to squeeze yet more life out of this 10-year-old epic. As popular as the game still is, there are those in the community who are pining for the nextElder Scrollsinstallment. But with people like AggravatingBreak3311 still finding ways to keep themselves amused in Tamriel, it could be a long time beforeSkyrimfalls out of favor.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrimis available for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
