The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrimtells the story of the Dragonborn’s quest to defeat Alduin, the World-Eater. In order to confront this ancient foe, players need to progress the main story and complete “The Fallen,” a quest that sees the Dragonborn capture a dragon. Once this has been done, traveling to Skuldafn will progress the story.

The Dragonborn is required to travel to Skuldafn as part ofSkyrim’s “The World-Eater’s Eyrie” quest. During this quest, the player needs to navigate the Draugr-infested ruins of Skuldafn Temple and finda way to reach Sovngarde. The premise is simple enough, butthe puzzles in Skuldafn Templeare sure to slow some players down.

Skuldafn Temple Puzzle 1 Solution

Upon entering Skuldafn Temple, players will need to proceed north through a small Draugr-filled room and climb a set of stairs. At the top of the stairs, they will find themselves in a large room, surrounded by coffins. Continuing north will cause theDraugr waiting in these coffinsto awaken, so players should deal with them before attempting to move on.

Before players can reach the next area, however, they will first need to solve the puzzle associated with the three pillars in the room’s center. Etched into each of these pillars are three different animal symbols, and each pillar needs to be in a specific position in order for the gates in the northern part of the room to open.

Toopen both gates, players should follow these steps:

Both doors will remain open once these steps have been followed, allowing players access to both areas. To find the next puzzle, the Dragonborn must proceed through the door on the left.

Skuldalfn Temple Puzzle 2 Solution

The second Skuldafn puzzle can be found in the room just after the area full of Frostbite Spiders. Like with the puzzle before, three pillars with animal symbols etched into them must be rotated in order to open the way forward.

Diamond Claw Door Puzzle Solution

Using the recently lowered drawbridge and following the path ahead, players will eventually be faced with a Dragon Claw Door. Before players can open this door, they will first need to defeat the nearbyDraugr Death Overlordandloot the Diamond Clawfrom its body.

With the Diamond Claw acquired, players can reposition the rings on the door sothe top ring displays a fox symbol,the central ring displays a butterfly symbol, andthe lower ring displays a dragon symbol.

Solving the second puzzle in Skuldafn in Skyrim

Interacting with the keyhole on the door will then cause the door to open, giving players access to the final area of Skuldafn Temple.
