InSea of Thieves, the Treasury of Secret Wilds is one of three underwater Treasuries that first appeared alongside six Shrines back in the 2021Sea of ThievesSeason 4 content update. Unlike the clues and puzzles of the Gold Hoarder vault voyages, Treasuries get players battling waves of enemies for their loot in a challenging but rewarding treasure haul.

Treasuries are an alternative way to earn gold and approximately 20 items of treasure, as well as a commendation for completing each one. Players who complete all three Treasuries also gain the Scar of Sunken Sorrow, one of the manyscar character customization optionswithin the game.

Features Of All Treasuries

All Treasuries have approximately 12 waves depending upon the size of the crew playing, signaled by a gong sound and battle music. The water level also rises and falls in the main arena roughly six times in total, so players best be on their toes to defeat a whole range of enemies from Siren Leaders to Ocean Crawlers.

Each wave contains different enemies every time and adjusts in difficulty according to crew size for maximum replayability. However, enemies do appear in certain groups, so it is possible to strategize. The tips here focus onsolo or sloop ship playersbut are relevant to all Treasury arenas which only have small differences in level design, such as pillars to hide behind in the Treasury of Lost Ancients.

All Treasury Locations On The Map Table In Sea Of Thieves

Entering The Treasury Of Secret Wilds

The Treasury of Secret Wilds is located underwater at point L3 on the map inThe Wilds regionand the entrance is opposite the sunken ship broken in two. The Treasury of Lost Ancients is positioned in the Ancient Isles at point H15 and the Treasury of Sunken Shores in The Shores of Plenty at point C3. It’s a long swim in all cases, with no time to waste as sharks quickly appear. Players may need to replenish air supplies when necessary by swimming over the bubble-emitting coral and must shoot or stab the flashing rose object above the bubble door to enter the Treasury.

Once inside, there areplenty of supplies to find, including fruit, ammo, and several Tridents of Dark Tides, commonly known in the community as the Trident, siren staff, or mermaid staff to name a few. To avoid wasting ammo, it’s best to equip the Trident to shoot the next bubble door leading to the central arena, which is also the strongest weapon for the upcoming waves. When entering the arena, the water level either rises or stays lowered before wave 1 begins.

Sirens And Siren Leaders

Players face several waves of Sirens and Siren Leaders when the water level rises. They have equal difficulty and perform projectile and powerful close-range attacks, such as the Siren Leader’s devastating spinning attack. The Trident is the most powerful weapon to defeat them all, but it’s a little slow to power up and runs out of juice, so it is essential players shoot from the most accurate position.

Unfortunately, players must drop the Trident when replenishing health, which can be inconvenient. Thankfully, there are lots of Tridents scattered about, so players can eat and swim to the next Trident, repeating as necessary. Both Siren Leaders and Sirens tend to restore their health, so it’s best not to take too long to destroy them.

Coral Skeletons

When the water level drops, coral-encrusted skeletons may burst from the ground and range from fast-moving groups to slow but deadly explosive barrel-carrying ones. Individual skeletons can be blown to bits with just one shot of the Trident instead of using other types of weapons, which takes longer.

It’s best to run in circles to keep distance from all varieties and shoot the barrel-holding ones from a safe distance, watching out for rogue explosive barrels dotted about the arena. Players can shoot the barrels to take out groups and are best destroying any remaining barrels before upcoming waves to avoid triggering them.

All Kinds Of Ocean Crawlers

When the water level goes down, players are also likely to encounter most or all species of Ocean Crawlers including the Electric, Hermit, and Crab Ocean Crawlers, that first appeared in theA Pirate’s Lifecontent update of Season 3.

It’s best to shoot them with the Trident as far away as possible and dodge the Hermit’s lunging and Crab’s high-damaging pounding attacks. A full charge of the Trident will obliterate a Crab Ocean Crawler in a single shot for a quick takedown.

Treasury Vault Master

For the final wave, players must destroy a Treasury Vault Master alongside a mix of water-based or land enemies, depending upon whether the water level is high or low. The Vault Master can take any form but isn’t any harder to beat, although this wave can be challenging with Sirens and Siren Leaders.

It’s most effective for players to keep moving, dodging enemy attacks while avoiding getting too close, and using the Trident to take down all opponents in this chaotic round.

The Treasury Vault

Once all arena waves are complete, the Treasury vault is unlocked and players have a limited amount of time to collect and store all Siren treasure and gold in the mermaid storage statue before the vault door shuts, leaving players trapped inside as water fills the space.

Players need to be careful not to click the ‘collect treasure’ option on the statue, as this will release all treasure back into the vault. Instead, players can use the same mermaid statue to return to their ship and retrieve all treasure out of the water with the harpoon once collected from the back-pack-wearing mermaid.
