Fans of the franchise have been looking forward to the newest iteration, given that the development ofRune Factory 5was announcedeight years afterRune Factory 4was released for the Nintendo 3DS. Now, the video game is heading to PC platforms via Steam, and fans will be able to play the title on their desktop devices.
Beyond a new storyline and setting,Rune Factory 5introduced new features into the series. This includes thesame-sex marriage options inRune Factory 5, which some in the game’s community consider groundbreaking as it has never been implemented in the series before. Just recently,Rune Factory 5made the announcement that the action RPG is making its way onto the PC platform via Steam. The title will be released on July 04, 2025. According to the official PC trailer posted on YouTube, there will be some visual improvements and more customization options in the Steam version. However, the developers have not given any details as to what these changes might be. Two versions of the game can be purchased on Steam, the standard version will cost $59.99 while the Digital Deluxe edition is priced at $69.99. Those who pre-order beforeRune Factory 5’s PC release date can avail of the current 15% discount and also receive in-game bonuses such as character outfits and an item pack.
Fans who own and have played theRune Factory 4 SpecialPC versionwill receive bonuses if they also purchaseRune Factory 5on Steam. This includes some outfits and special NPC visits of characters fromRF4. The PC version will also be available in different languages, and features such as Steam Trading Cards and achievements will also be implemented. For gamers who look forward to these specific Steam features and are also fans of theRune Factoryseries, these might be good incentives to purchase the video game.
