Marvel’s Avengersis days away, as of this writing, from adding The Winter Soldier to its line-up, but many may be curious about She-Hulk. This Marvel character has been long rumored for the title, and it would seem adding her alongside theShe-HulkDisney Plus series would have/could have been the plan, seeing asJane Foster joinedMarvel’s Avengersto coincide with the release ofThor: Love and Thunder.
However, because She-Hulk was leaked, it’s a curious situation, one that known insider Miller may have shed some light on. Since this information does not come fromMarvel’s Avengersdeveloper Crystal Dynamics, it should be taken with a grain of salt and treated as what it is: a rumor and nothing more.

That said, according to Miller, She-Hulk’s release was delayed, and the character is currently being “held.” Aside from Spider-Man for PlayStation consoles, she was apparently supposed to release afterBlack Panther and the War for Wakanda update. It seems that voice actress Krizia Bajos has even recorded multiple lines for the character, but alluding to the shake-up and Embracer Group acquisition of Crystal Dynamics, She-Hulk ended up being shelved. These staffing changes saw the team shift focus to improving the multiplayer experience and releasing Jane Foster to capitalize on the hype of the movie, with Jane Foster apparently failing to meet expectations within Crystal Dynamics and the player base. (Relevant segment begins at the 24:30 mark below).
As Miller put it, Jane Foster was essentially 30% new content—where he says that Winter Soldier is basically 40% new content. It’s worth mentioning thatMarvel’s Avengershas been criticized for these “echo characters,” where Kate Bishop plays incredibly similar to Hawkeye and Jane Foster plays similar to Thor, too. The easiest place to draw comparisons in such work would be She-Hulk and Hulk, if Crystal Dynamics pushed forward with this development approach. However, for whatever reason, it seems that She-Hulk was specifically selected to be held until Embracer Group provides the developer with enough budget and manpower to create a “fully original character in She-Hulk.” However, as to when that could go unstated, as there is likely not a major timeline here.
Ever since Embracer Group announced its Crystal Dynamics acquisition (alongside other Square Enix studios), many have been worried about the future of the game. It didn’t get a strong start, and its current content selection isn’t really enough to carry it. The fact thatEmbracer Group shut down some of the mobile gamesit acquired doesn’t help either; all the same, fans should keep in mind that these are all rumors at this time.
Marvel’s Avengersis out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
