AsFortnitecontinues to crossover withStar Wars, a possibly substantiated rumor could be teasing a new collaboration skin with the Disney property.Fortnitefirst started collaborating withStar Warsback in 2019, and since then several more cosmetics related to the Disney franchise have been added to the game, with a possible future one being rumored currently.Because of the aforementioned crossovers,Star Warsis no stranger toFortnite, with the battle royale featuring over a dozen characters from the popular franchise. While the Mandalorian and Darth Vader have been included in pastFortnitebattle passes, and Darth Maul is currently part of an added tier of progression, players can findStar Warscharacters like Kylo Ren, Obi-Wan Kenobi, the Stormtrooper and more from the Item Shop. Beyond the skins, tons of additional cosmetics like the Lil' Podracer and This is the Way emotes have been brought toFortnite, and new Item Shop goodies continue to get rumored.RELATED:Fortnite Makes Changes to the Battle BusTheFortniteTwitter account has garnered 15,700 likes on a text post that simply reads “Roger, Roger,” which is being taken as aStar Warsreference as the battle royale is in the midst of its latest collaboration withthe Disney property. KnownFortniteleaker FitzyLeakz and several others have speculated that theFortnitetweet is referencing a future droid skin, with the most likely droid being the B1 battle droid. Because the battle droid repeats the line stated by theFortniteTwitter account multiple times across the movies and shows, the mechanicalStar Warscharacter seems like a plausible reference.
Given thatFortnitejust got Anakin Skywalker, Darth Maul, Padme Amidala, and more with the latestStar Warscrossover, the tweet may infer that more are coming. Although the rumors point to the B1 battle droid being the character that theFortniteTwitter account is referencing, it’s still unclear how relevant the tweet is to future content in the game. AsFortnitehas includedStar Warscharacters in a mix of ways, the rumored skin could be distributed through a battle pass, additional progress tier, the Item Shop, a freebie earnable through in-game quests, or an entirely new concept.
WhileFortnitemay be quoting the B1 battle droid fromStar Warswith its recent post, the “Roger, Roger” could also be referencing an existing military character like Munitions Major or Plastic Patroller. Given that it’s currently unclear whenFortniteandStar Warswill collaborate next, fans may be waiting for a while before getting their hands on the skin if the rumors are true.
Fortniteis available now for Mac, Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
