The PlayStation 4 came in a variety of colors, including theGlacier White of theDestiny 2bundle, black, gold, and silver. Back in 2014, though, players could buy a 24k-covered PS4 for a mind-blowing $14,000, and it looks like they will have the opportunity to do so once again with the PlayStation 5.
While theprice of the PlayStation 5hasn’t been released yet and will probably be impacted by the coronavirus, most gamers estimate that the price will be around $500 USD. But for some, that’s just not pricey enough. So there’s a company in Britain who will be selling an extravagant version of the newest console from Sony.

Truly Exquisite, a British luxury label, unveiled three newPlayStation 5console colors, or materials. One is covered in 24k gold, one in 24k platinum, and the last in 18k rose gold. It has released a trailer featuring the 24k gold model, complete with 24k gold controller and headphones.
So how much will the 24k gold, 24k platinum, and 18k rose gold PS5 cost? It’s anyone’s guess at this point. The PS5 price hasn’t yet been revealed, and thePS5 is extremely bigand heavy at 11 pounds. But if the golden PlayStation 4 from 2014 from Gatti Luxury Lab cost $13,800USD, the PS5 will definitely cost more. However, there was a UK retailer who sold a 24k Xbox One back in 2013 for just $7,700. The price may be anyone’s guess, but it’s going to be in the thousands for sure.
“PS5 is arguably the most anticipated games console to ever be released,” says Kunal Patel, founder and CEO of Truly Exquisite. “These will be hugely popular especially due to them being limited pieces with probably no more than 100 pieces released worldwide.” Most likely, both the full PS5 and thePS5 digital editionwill have the gold-plated options.
While Sony recently mentioned that there would bealternate colors of PS5 controllers, gold and platinum weren’t really what most fans with normal paychecks have in mind. It’s mind-blowing that with many people out of work and having trouble paying their bills due to the coronavirus that this is an option for people to purchase. It certainly won’t be accessible to 99% of people that are looking to buy a PS5.
