The Super Mario Bros. Moviehas had some new details leaked by an unlikely source. Pictures from a McDonald’s toy pamphlet have seemingly leaked the look of Anya Taylor-Joy’s Princess Peach in the film.
The Super Mario Bros. Movierecently revealed its trailer, which highlighted many of its characters. Among the characters shown were King Bowser (Jack Black), Mario (Chris Pratt), Toad (Keegan-Michael Key), Luigi (Charlie Day), and even the iconicpenguin racers from theSuper Mariogames. Fans were delighted to see what the film would look like, with Mario’s appearance, in particular, being highly anticipated. One pivotal character was missing from the excitement, however, was Princess Peach, who did not appear in the trailer.

Fans have been anticipating theSuper Mario Bros. Moviefor quite a while. It is the first animated, theatrical adaptation of the beloved video game franchise. Animation studio Illumination, famous for itsDespicable MeandMinionsfranchises, was given the honor of producing the movie. Fans have gone so far as to analyze any sort of media related to the film, evenanalyzing theSuper Mario Bros.posteras soon as it dropped.
The faithful looks of the characters that have been revealed so far bodes well for the film. Its previous live-action film adaptation was not very close to what fans expected from the video games, but theSuper Mario Bros. Movietrailer revealed a faithful recreation of the Mushroom Kingdom, complete with nods to the score of the video game. And, if this film does well,Nintendo has been rumoredto be making more video game movies in the future, so a desire to remain faithful means that those films will likely stick to the source material as well.
Now that Peach’s look has been revealed, all that remains to be seen (or rather heard) is Taylor-Joy’s rendition of the character. Taylor-Joy is a celebrated actress, and she will likely bring the character to life. There will likely be more reveals to come beforeThe Super Mario Bros. Moviehits theaters.
