Back in April, rumors started swirling that Ubisoft was preparing to launch aPrince of Persiaremake, but when Ubisoft Forward came and went with no announcement, many fans lost hope. However, retail listings for aPrince of Persiaremake have appeared online, fueling speculation that an announcement for the game is set to come sooner rather than later.

ThePrince of Persiaremakelistings list the unannounced game for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch, with no mention of PC or Xbox One versions. It also has a tentative release window of November 2020. Otherwise, there’s not a lot of information that fans can get from the listings. However, it seems unlikely that aPrince of Persiaremake would skip PC and Xbox, and it’s also unlikely that it would release in the same month asAssassin’s Creed Valhalla, so fans should take this information with a grain of salt.

If Ubisoft is planning to announce aPrince of Persiaremake for release later this year, perhaps the announcement will come at thenext Ubisoft Forward event. For the uninitiated, it’s been confirmed that the next Ubisoft Forward will take place at some point in September, so it’s certainly within the realm of possibility.

It’s been a whopping 10 years since the last time a main seriesPrince of Persiagame launched, with2010’sThe Forgotten Sandsbeing the last time the series has seen a new entry. SincePrince of Persiawas once one of Ubisoft’s top franchises, it’s always been a bit surprising that it has been left dormant.

Recently, Ubisoft has experimented withPrince of PersiaVR experiences, but it has not announced any news on a possible new game in the series. And even if a new game in the series isn’t in the works, it’s safe to say that many fans would settle for aPrince of Persia: The Sands of Timeremake, or even aremaster of theSands of Timetrilogy, but for modern platforms.

Whatever the case may be, Ubisoft enthusiasts should be sure to tune in to the next Ubisoft Forward event when it takes place in September. It’s quite possible, and perhaps even likely, thatPrince of Persiawill not have a presence at the event, but this retail leak means that it’s more of a possibility than it was before. Hopefully more information comes sooner rather than later, and fans can start looking forward to a newPrince of Persiaadventure.
