A fan ofPokemon Scarlet and Violethas shared a screenshot of their character being “eaten” by Muk. This is another case of the abundant technical problems and glitches thatPokemon Scarlet and Violethave become somewhat famous for.

Earlier in 2022,Pokemon Legends: Arceusreceived praise for changing some of the fundamental gameplay elements in thePokemonfranchise. Expectations forPokemon Scarlet and Violethad been high, as the title promised to utilize some of these changes, but the games have not received the same critical response. WhileScarlet and Violetdidn’t keep some of thebest features fromPokemon Legends: Arceus, this is not the main reason why the titles haven’t received as much praise. The games are known for being riddled with bugs and performing at a lackluster frame rate.

Luckily, a lot of the bugs have been very amusing, as demonstrated by Reddit user JoshBNimble, who posted a screenshot of their Pokemon trainer in the mouth of Muk. The post is titled, “This is why you don’t feed the wildlife.” The title implies a story to the situation, adding a layer of humor, but also ties into theenvironmentalist theme of Grimerand Muk. Muk is the evolution of Grimer, which is formed by sludge and toxic waste in water. The Pokemon usually grow by eating garbage, but this time it seems as though Muk decided to eat its trainer. The trainer’s face is left peering out of the Muk’s mouth, looking somewhat nonplussed about the situation.

Commenters took the chance to praise the 3D rendering of the Pokemon. Both Muk and Grimer were absent fromPokemon Sword and Shield,as well asPokemon Legends: Arceus, meaning that this is the highest quality rendering of Muk in 3D yet. Another commenter suggested that the image would make for a good Pokemon trainer ID card. It’s not possible to change too much about the trainer inScarlet and Violet, unlike the recentPokemon Masters Exupdate allowing trainer customization.

Even thoughPokemon Scarlet and Violethave become so well known for the bugs, the popularity of the games continues strong, with new players continuing to join the franchise. As shown by a funny story shared by a student whoseteacher became addicted toPokemon Scarlet and Violet, thePokemonfranchise is still massively popular.

Based on the high sales figures,Pokemon Scarlet and Violethave been widely accepted despite their buggy performance, as most of the issues are quite funny and not game breaking. Aglitch that makes Sudowoodo invisibleis something that can add to the fun of the game. While they may not be quite what’s intended, some bugs provide an experience that many in the community find amusing. Sometimes fans will enjoy a product in spite of the flaws, which can make make the title feel unique.
