Fennkin was the Fire-type starter native to the Kalos Region fromPokemon XandPokemon Y. When it reached its final evolution, Delphox, it became a dual type Fire/Psychic. It took some time, but now the Fennekin-line is compatible withPokemon ScarletandPokemon Violet.
Unfortunately, Fennkin and its evolutions can’t be found in the wild withoutScarlet/Violet’s expansion pass. Despite this, there are a few ways to go about getting a Fennkin onto aPokemon Scarlet/Violetfile. Thanks toPokemon HOMEcompatibility, players may even be able to get a Fennekin at the start of their journey.

Prior to the release ofPokemon Scarlet & Violet’s part 2 of the expansion pass, the only way to get starter Pokemon was to battle their final evolved forms in Timed Raids/7-star Raids, or transfer them withPokemon HOME. In theIndigo Disk, you can now catch all starters from Generations 1-8. Among these starter Pokemon is Fennekin, the Fire-starter of Gen 6. However, you won’t find Fennekin on your first visit toIndigo Disk’s Terarium. You’ll need to put in some work to expand Fennekin’s preferred Biome, which you can accomplish by completing Blueberry (Academy) Quests. The following guide has been updated to include how-to catch Fennekin inIndigo Disk.
Where to Find Fennekin in Indigo Disk
Savanna Biome
You can find Fennekin in theSavanna BiomeofTerarium(Indigo Disk DLC). However, there’s a catch: Fennekin willnot spawn until you expand the Savanna Biome. To do this, you willneed todonate 3000BPto the respective clubusing the computer in the League Club. The League Club features won’t unlock untilyou’ve met Drayton.
While youcango to Terarium as soon as you finish the story quests (“Path of Legends,” “Starfall Street,” and “Victory Road”) and defeat Kieran in the Kitakami/Teal Mask story, youwon’t be able to go into Blueberry Academy until completing “The Way Home” main quest. So you will want to make sure you are in the postgame if you’re set on catching Fennekin in the wild.
The next step is to farm up some BP, or Blueberry Points. These are earned fromcompleting Blueberry Quests (BBQs). You’ll start out doing simple quests before moving onto the more challenging ones.You unlock BBQs after completing your first class in Terarium. You can check your BBQs by tappingright on the directional pad. UseL/R buttonto toggle between BBQs and Meal Effects.
Once you have 3000BP, go to the computer in the League Club, and choose to expand the Savanna Biome. Now you can find Fennekinin the western section of the Savanna Biome, specifically near the border separating Savanna and Canyon Biome.
Getting Fennkin, Braixen, and Delphox without Indigo Disk
Transferring with Pokemon HOME
Currently, Fennekin and its evolutions can betransferred fromPokemon GO,trade, or bybreedingtheDelphox from the temporary 7-star Tera Raid. While Fennekin doesn’t roam about Paldea, it’s possible that it could be included in theTeal Mask & Indigo Disk expansion pack. InSword/Shield, the Expansion Pack introduced new Pokemon and brought back Pokemon from previous generations. Thus, it’s very possible the same will apply toScarlet/Violet’s DLC.
For now, here’s what players will need to do in order to get their own Fennkin:

BothPokemon GOandPokemon HOMEare free to download on mobile devices, and the Switch forHOME. If playersintend to fill out the Pokedex, then it’s highly recommended to getPokemonGO. Once you link yourGOaccount toHOME, you can transfer Pokemon fromGOto a console/mainline game any time you want, so long as you have Transfer Energy.
Fennekin is more likely to appear in the wild (onPokemon GO) than its evolutions, who are usually Event or Raid-exclusive. As a Fire-type, Fennekin has a higher chance of appearing in the wild onsunny days. It’s easier to catch Fennekin by first feeding it aRazz Berryand then throwing aGreat Ball.

Fennekin will evolve into Braixen atlevel 16.To evolve Braixen into Delphox, level it up tolevel 36. If you’re catching the wild Fennekins in the Savanna Biome, it will be well-beyond its evolve-level. To trigger the evolution, level up Fennekinonceto get Braixen, then once more to get Delphox. You can do this quickly by feeding it a Rare Candy or an Exp. Candy.
