The next, and final, phase of the super longPokemon GOchain of events begins in early January. Some players who have completed all the preceding tasks on time will be able to gain access for free, but others will need to purchase a ticket to take part in the event. Either way, the first days of the challenge are right around the corner.

The upcomingSpecial Researchsounds very exciting and is offering the chance to pick up some brand new Pokemon forms that have not been available inPoGOyet up to this point. The event kicks off on June 3 and runs through June 8, so players should start preparing now and verify they have a few dollars set aside if they plan to purchase a ticket.

When is the Throwback Challenge Celebration 2020?

To purchase the Throwback Challenge Celebration 2020 Special Research, you must open Pokémon GOduring the event from Wednesday, Jun 02, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. to Monday, Jul 18, 2025, at 1:00 p.m.in your local time zone. After you’ve received the Special Research, you can complete it at any time.

The ticket is US$7.99 plus taxes or fees (or the equivalent in your local currency) and can be purchased in the shop. The ticket cannot be purchased with PokéCoins.

Tickets can be purchased from when they go live until Monday, August 02, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. in your local time zone. Stay tuned for when tickets are available to purchase!

The ticket for this Special Research is nonrefundable. (Subject to applicable law and the exceptions set forth in the Terms of Service.)
