More specifically, Yamask must take 49 damage before it will evolve into Runerigus in those games.
To note, What Lies Beneath the Mask is not the only new Research to work on during part one of Halloween Mischief. Indeed, there is some event-exclusive Field Research, much of which also focuses on catching Ghost-type Pokemon.
