Summary
A couple of new Halloween-themed avatar items have creeped out thePokemon GOcommunity.Pokemon GOusually releases Halloween-themed items for the player’s avatar every year, but this time, Niantic released a truly horrifying combination without even knowing it.
Yamask is a Ghost-type Pokemon, first introduced in the fifth generation of thePokemonfranchise. Yamask resembles a small, shadow-like creature with big red eyes that are filled with sadness and despair. The most notable characteristic of this Pokemon is the wooden mask that Yamask carries around with it, which looks like it’s peacefully sleeping. The mask itself has a dark backstory, as it represents what Yamask used to look like when it was still human. When exposed to a Dusk Stone, Yamask will evolve into Cofagrigus, a sarcophagus-like Pokemon with four long arms.
Reddit user Some-Ostrich-4997 posted an image on thePokemon GOsubreddit of their avatar wearing two of the newest clothing items in the game. In the image, Some-Ostrich-4997 is wearing a Yamask mask and a Cofagrigus body suit, and the combination is truly terrifying.Yamask may seem like a cute Pokemon, but thePokemon GOmask proves how scary-looking it can be. What really adds to the creep factor for this combination are the two extra-long arms that appear to be stretching out to grab their next victim.
If other players wish to replicate Some-Ostrich-4997’sdisturbing choice inPokemon-based clothing, they can purchase the Yamask mask for 200 Poke Coins and the Cofagrigus body suit for 400 Poke Coins. Players can also buy other Halloween-themed costume pieces like the Phantump mask, the Litwick mask, and the actual mask that completes the Cofagrigus look. All of these masks can be purchased for 200 Poke Coins a piece. Many of the comments for the post mentioned that this combination is “nightmare fuel” and will keep them awake, even past Halloween.
Some-Ostrich-4997’s creepy clothing discovery couldn’t have come at a better time asPokemon GO’s Halloween Eventis happening, and Niantic just added two new Ghost types to the game: Greavard and Houndstone. To really get into the spirit, players can throw on their Yamask mask and Cofagrigus suit to get into the right mood as they spin PokeStops and catch Pokemon this Halloween.
