Pokemon GO’s Abra Community Day is live today from 11:00am local time to 5:00pm, and like other Community Day events, it gives players the chance to catch a ton of the featured Pokemon. There’s also a much higher than usual chance thatPokemon GOplayers will catch a shiny Abra, and so fans of the augmented reality mobile game will no doubt be catching as many Abra as humanly possible.
While they’re out catching Abra for theAbra Community Day event,Pokemon GOplayers can snag some bonus rewards if they purchase the Investigating Illusions Special Research ticket. Available for $0.99 from thePokemon GOshop, this limited-time Special Research challenges players to complete Abra-specific tasks in exchange for various rewards, including more Abra encounters, stardust, rare candy, and more.

Pokemon GOplayers should be able to complete theInvestigating Illusions Special Researcheven if they fail to complete every step during Abra Community Day, but it will be much easier to complete if players are sure to participate while the event is live.
Here are all thePokemon GOAbra Community Day Investigating Illusions Special Research tasks and rewards.

For the most part, the Investigating Illusions Special Research is pretty self-explanatory. It’s all about catching Abra, evolving Abra, and transferring Pokemon (probably Abra, as that will be one of the most efficient ways forPokemon GOplayers to get more Abra candy). While some fans may dislike Niantic’s decision to release yet anotherpaid Special Research, some would argue that the low price point at least makes it more viable than some of the other Special Research that Niantic has put behind a paywall.
On the bright side, there is evidence to suggest thatPokemon GOwill soon get a major Special Research event that will presumably be free of charge. Datamining efforts have unearthed thePokemon GOThrowback 2020 Special Research, which will apparently be a massive 36-part event celebrating all of the regions that have been featured inPokemon GOso far. However, that has yet to be officially announced, so fans should keep their expectations in check until Niantic reveals more information.
Pokemon GOis out now for iOS and Android mobile devices.
