Summary

APokemonfan set to work and created a Paradox form of Terrakion, one of the Legendary Swords of Justice from Unova, and posted their work on social media. ThePokemonfan received praise for their effort, and the artist revealed the reason why they chose to make a Paradox Terrakion.

Known as the Cavern Pokemon, Terrakion is a Rock and Fighting dual-type Pokemon that is part of the Swords of Justice alongside Cobalion, Virizion, and Keldeo. Given the fact that the Swords of Justice are based onThe Three Musketeers, Terrakion is considered by Pokemon trainers as the “Porthos” of the group due to its size and physical strength. With access to moves such as Swords Dance, Sacred Sword, Stone Edge, and Earthquake, Terrakion was once a mainstay in competitive Pokemon battles. However, at the time of writing, Terrakion and the other Swords of Justice have not beenadded toPokemon Scarlet and VioletviaPokemon Home. But, that has not stopped one trainer from designing what a Paradox Terrakion would look like.

On Reddit, a user named El-psy-congroo-01 shared a Paradox form of Terrakion they designed as part of an art commission. The Paradox Terrakion concept was dubbed “Rugged Horns” and was changed to be a Rock and Dragon dual-type Pokemon that would belong inPokemon Scarletwere it real. While Terrakion is a quadruped, Rugged Horns is a bipedal Pokemon based on the Carnotaurus, a dinosaur from the late Cretaceous period. The OP mostly retained Terrakion’s gray, brown, and black color palette when designing Rugged Horns, but added some orange and red to the tips of its spikes and horns. The same details were retained for Rugged Horns' shiny version. With a massive jaw and the Protosynthesis ability, Rugged Horns would likely retain Terrakion’s physical prowess which made itone of the best Pokemon from Unova.

The post from El-psy-congroo-01 received over 300 upvotes on r/pokemon within a few hours. In the comments, another user named Mathias_Greyjoy revealed themselves as the OP’s client and friend. They thanked the OP for their work designing Rugged Horns as part of a Paradox Pokemon fan project. While designingParadox forms for Legendary Pokemoncontinues to be a trend forPokemonfan artists, only time will tell how long the trend will continue.

Withthe August 8 edition of Pokemon Presentsright around the corner, the future of thePokemonfranchise remains speculative. It remains to be seen if Terrakion and the Swords of Justice will appear inPokemon Scarlet and Violet’s upcoming DLC.
