Redditor FilippoDraws just shared their take on what the legendary Pokemon Kyogre would look like as a Ghost type pokemon, and fans are absolutely loving it. With Kyogre being one of thetwo main legendaries for the third generation ofPokemongames, the artwork is getting fans riled up for a remake ofPokemon Alpha Sapphire.
InPokemon Alpha Sapphireand Omega Ruby, Kyogre functions as the exact opposite of Groudon, and is typically a pure Water type. This art imagines what a Ghost Kyogre would look like, suggesting that perhaps the Pokemon died but returned as its business with Groudon was unfinished.

The artwork seems to draw heavy inspiration fromKyogre’s primal form, as the coloring and linework are all very similar. What sets it apart from that, though, is the actual color scheme and the small details added to invoke that spooky feeling a ghost type should.
Obviously, the most striking change to Kyogre’s design in this art is the color scheme. Rather than sporting its traditional blue and red design (or blue and yellow in primal form), Ghost Kyogre has a black and purple design with eerily glowing blue highlights. Its shaping and linework are pretty much identical to that of Primal Kyogre, but apurple flame typical of Ghost type Pokemonburns at the end of each of its fins. The frills which flow off of its tail are now a ghastly looking white to black gradient, and more purple flames are found on the rest of the Pokemon’s body.
Fan reaction to the art is mostly positive, and many even began developing theories on what could cause a ghost form of Kyogre to appear. One of the more popular ones is an alternate timeline in whichGroudon kills Kyogreand removes all water from the planet, forcing Kyogre to reincarnate as a Ghost Type in order to continue existing. Others posit on what type it would be. Obviously Ghost Kyogre would be Ghost-type, but if it had a secondary typing as well, some feel that Water, Dark, or even Fire make sense.
