Summary

Overwatch 2just revealed that the new Mythic skin for Season 7 is Onryo Hanzo. The bow-wielding DPS hero becomes a vengeful spirit of wrath in this incredibleOverwatch 2skin.

Season 7 ofOverwatch 2is called Rise of Darkness. As the name suggests,Overwatch 2is leaning heavily into the Halloween season, with spooky alterations to the Blizzard World map, and tons of amazing cosmetics, including askin that turns Moira into Lilith fromDiablo 4.

Now,Overwatch 2has revealed the new Mythic skin for Season 7. Onryo Hanzo casts the stoic warrior in a supernatural light, featuring glowing, fire-like skin and hair, demonic horns and tusks, and weapon and armor customizations inspired by traditional Japanese spiritualism. The skin also features a deep voice filter and unique sounds, including some for the hero’s skeletal Dragonstrike avatars. The Mythic Hanzo skin does not unlock any customizations at lower Battle Pass tiers like in Season 5 and 6, with all customizations and colors being earned at level 80 like the first 4 Seasons.

In Japanese folklore, onryo are wrathful spirits known for exacting vengeance against the living for wrongdoings against them in life. Given Hanzo’s tragic backstory, rendering him as one of these tormented ghosts is too perfect. Likewise, his younger brother Genji received the veryfirst Mythic skin in the inauguralOverwatch 2Battle Pass, so it is only right that Hanzo gets his nearly a year later.

Needless to say,Overwatch 2players can’t wait to collect this awesome skin. The custom animations, vibrant color options, and unique voiceover are extremely cool. Hanzo already has some fantastic skins that have been released over the years, but many of his fans will be using one of Onryo Hanzo’s many variations once they unlock the skin from the Season 7 Battle Pass.

The upcoming Battle Pass forOverwatch 2Season 7 will feature other cosmetics as well, but they have not been revealed yet. The new rotation of rewards and activities begins on October 10, so players can expect to see some of them over the next week, and all of them by Season 7’s launch date. Either way, players can look forward to two months of excitement as they battle across thenew Samoa Control map inOverwatch 2. Additionally, fans can get their first glimpse at Season 8 at BlizzCon next month, whereOverwatch 2is planning on revealing the new tank hero and the final playable character coming in 2023.

Overwatch 2is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
